    Warming a fermentation chamber

I use a stc1000, paint can and a 25watt bulb which works great for me ... Had a 60watt but the paint can got way too hot for my liking.

About Time To Document This (Strut/Penrose/BCS-460 System)

Yep, I've done the sous vide several times, as well as water bath canning for my wife. Because I do BIAB I have a steamer/strainer insert I use that keeps everything above the element :)

Nice work! And I might have to borrow the punches from you sometime, I've got a smaller kettle I'd like to convert into a eBIAB to do smaller batches. And that pumpkin ale was awesome!!!

    Electrolyte Beer for Runners

Interesting ... I just read an article that talked about removing or lowering the alcohol but still preserving the flavor by bringing the temperature post fermentation to approx 180F - past the point alcohol will evaporate. My dad can't have much alcohol because of the medication he is on so I...

    Show us your Kegerator

Got free from a friend. Modified the temp controller using the course adjustment screw, removed the top, painted it black, added a base and added my own top with a collar.

I live on Puzzle Creek, but I've sampled a few brews from the County Line guys during the neighborhood garage sale :)

About Time To Document This (Strut/Penrose/BCS-460 System)

I'm in the Locsha Falls subdivision across from Rocky Mountain High School. I figure I can bottle from keg or use a growler if I ever need to take one on the go :)

About Time To Document This (Strut/Penrose/BCS-460 System)

Nice build ... I too live in Meridian. I'm in the process of finishing an electric setup as well (Doing BIAB to start off with). Just finished a tower keezer, as I've decided to go straight to kegging instead of bottling based on recommendations from other home brewers in my neighborhood...

    My Tower Keezer

Decided I wanted to start kegging initially instead of bottling, so I built a keezer from an older chest freezer given to me from a friend. Modified the temp control to a range of 38-44F, painted it black, replaced the lid with a 8" collar and added a base with wheels.

Starting my first ejectric build soon

Yep, I read about that last night when I was searching to see if restricting the output flow would cause damage to the pump. One nice thing about the TC connections, it's easy to reconfigure next time ;)

Starting my first ejectric build soon

Got the kettle and TC parts in ... Did a quick test with some water to ensure no leaks and that the controller was working properly.

Anyone know if this Frigidaire freezer has the shelf coils?

Probably not going to work, all the upright freezers I looked at had coils in the shelving. That's why I ended up with a chest freezer.

Starting my first ejectric build soon

I created a 120v whip that I made to test the control panel. But in the end, where I would want to run the smoker isn't convenient location for 240v. I thought about making a 120v/240v input but decided it really wasn't that much more of a hassle/cost to make a smaller 120v version versus...

Starting my first ejectric build soon

I actually decided to build a second 120v controller for smoking, mainly because I decided the 50 amp cable limits where I can place the smoke house. Besides, I figure I can use the 120v controller if I ever decided to utilize a RIMS in my brewing setup - at least that is my justification ;)

Starting my first ejectric build soon

Took a while to get started, but I've made some progress ... I installed a 50 amp outlet in the garage, setup a 50 amp GFCI spa panel, and built my controller - still need to order and apply the labels. Started on the brew stand, and waiting for my BIAB kettle to arrive next week.

Starting my first ejectric build soon

Searching through previous posts, I think I found a diagram close to what I'm looking to build ... it's one of PJ's diagrams which can be found at the following link: http://www.pjmuth.org/beerstuff/images/Auberin-wiring1-a4-5500w-30d.jpg I think the changes I'll make is have a L14-30...

Starting my first ejectric build soon

If I understand this correctly, I would have a single L14-30 outlet controlled by the pid and create a brewing whip for 240v and a separate 120v whip - both would to connect to L14-30 outlet depending on whether I'm brewing or smoking. I assume the 120v whip would be something like this...
