    Anyone brewing on the 4th?

If not the 4th, I'll have a brew in by the 8th.

    Kegging warm

Sometimes I'll keg warm and just keep the gas on it at 10 psi. No, it's not going to carbonate, but it keeps pressure on the keg and might start the carb process. Then once a spot opens up in the keezer I let it carb cold.

Trying to bounce back from two dumpers..

Need to keep better notes. Really would suck to brew a good one and not remember how you did it.

Trying to make a “dryer” less sweet brew

Mash lower. I have to question anyone that says mash at any temp you want. Don't think they know what goes on in a mash. Simple corn sugar can also dry things out.

    Hangovers and Homebrew

It's all about the B12 that the yeast produce. The big commercial brews are all filtered, your homebrew isn't. Yeast make alcohol, but they also make good stuff to make you not feel as bad. Look it up.

    Are piney hops dying/dead?

I've been doing the citrus hops for a while, and it's starting to get old. But damn, a Centennial IPA does it for me.

    Solitary brewer ?

I brew solo. A couple times I've had someone over for a brew day, and I don't like it at all. I'm a creature of habit, and need to stick to my routine. If someone is around too much BSing goes on, I can't concentrate on what I want to do, and I usually forget to do something. Plus, I don't...

Reusing stubby bottles from Sierra Nevada issues.

Same here. Back when I bottled, I filled hundreds of SN stubby bottles, capped with a wing capper and never had an issue.

Made a Mistake; Looking for Advice

Always buy your grains in separate bags to prevent this. I too learned this the hard way, only the shop gave me the wrong malt. Since it was their fault, they replaced them, but the 30 min ride one way was a loss. There are zero advantages of having a shop mix your grains together.

    Full Volume BIAB Efficiency

Nothing wrong with that. I'm a big proponent of brewing with the basics when you first start. Then you can figure out the process and decide what you want and need to make your system better. Buy too much right off the bat and you'll have unused equipment laying around soon enough.

    Full Volume BIAB Efficiency

For consistency and control. Your LHBS may adjust their mill and you get a different crush. Or you buy form somewhere else, for whatever reason, and get a different crush. Or you start buying larger quantities of grains, and need a way to crush them. Having your own mill is just one more...

    "you won't save money homebrewing"

Sums up how I feel. I spend as much on water and ice per brew as some claim to spend total. Do I care? No. If I really want a new piece of equipment, I buy it, if it will make my process better. Enjoying what I made and sharing it with others is all that matters.

    fermenting US O5 at 54

I've always heard of off flavors using US05 and fermenting too low, meaning below 60. This is my yeast for 90% of my brews, and when I started brewing I would keep it around 62. Now I start at 64 for the first few days then raise up to 68 to finish. Fermentis recommends 64-82.

    "you won't save money homebrewing"

If you only look at ingredients, then yes, you will save money. Factor in equipment and time, no way. All depends on how you look at things.

Getting rid of the constant “green” home brew taste

Depends on how you brew. All extract, then yes just straight distilled is fine. But if brewing AG, then you have to add salts to distilled water or your mash isn't going to be right. AG using distilled and building the water is what I've been doing for a while now, and my beers have improved...
