    Sankey keg lock rings

I've had better luck ditching the spiral ring and using a snap ring instead.i don't recall the size off hand (it appears to be McMaster Carr pn 91580A246 after a quick google search) but as long as you are careful to orient the ears so it doesn't interfere with installing the coupler too much...

    Storing DME?

I keep mine in a clear plastic screw top container similar to this this one and just keep it in the cupboard next to the flour and sugar

    Turkey Fryer Valve

I actually have the same pot and was considering the same thing too, did everything just fit or did you need to make any adjustments?

    Apartment Tv

another solution is a pipe in a bucket full of cement to clamp the dish to if you don't have a railing to clamp it to

how long once I keg before I should start carbing?

if you don't have the CO2, you could always naturally carb (think of the keg as one big bottle) with 1/3 cup sugar and then you don't have to worry about it. You won't be able to really serve until you get the CO2, but at least it'll be ready for you when you do.

    Buying cheap drip trays...

You can get them from taking apart old or broken (or new ones if you want to waste money) hard drives from a computer. They are just very strong neodymium magnets that you can get many other places... I just had a pile of old drives to get rid of so I took the free route

    Buying cheap drip trays...

I used a piece of vinyl gutter and some magnets to mount it and it works great for my setup

    Pots and burners

I can't find it on their website (they have it in their store), but you have to get a new regulator & hose kit because the timer uses different threads. When I accidentally killed the one mine came with, I went to the store and the replacement hooks right into the burner instead of through the...

    Pots and burners

I got this one for the spigot and love it. It has a stupid timer on it that you can either bypass with a new regulator hose or just tape it to stop it from winding down. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Stainless-Steel-Turkey-Fryer-with-Spigot/product/10211714/123840

    Walmart turkey fryer

I had a similar one from bass pro and when the hose got nicked I discovered that their replacement won't fit the timer, it does however fit the burner directly (bypassing all that annoying crap).

    This Heat is Causing Withdrawals

I had the same problem, so I went to harbor freight and got a $30 pond pump and use it to pump ice water through my IC. Even in 115 degree weather I can get my wort cool enough in under 1.5 hours if I keep on it with ice as it melts and move the IC around a bit to stir it up and even out the...

    harbor freight siphon pump

I have tried to use a similar siphon (mine was for an aquarium) and all it did was make a mess stir up everything in my fermenter resulting in the most cloudy beer I had ever bottled (it wasn't all that tasty either). Maybe if you are using a secondary it would be better? I would also be worried...

Valve I can control with electronics?

One thing I noticed while using a solenoid valve, at least with the one I have (normally closed, energize to open) is that it gets VERY hot when energized for long times (around a minute or so). Just something to be aware of

    Vegas Bound!

If you don't mind off strip/fremont Chicago Brewery at 2201 Fort Apache Avenue is great and they are at all the homebrew festivals out here too - awesome guys. There is also one in the Fremont (I believe) but it's very small cafe that is IMO disappointing and not worth it.

    Rotting Strawberries? Can that happen?

Sometimes it takes a long time for the flavor to come out, be patient. My brother made a pumpkin beer that tasted like burning tires for almost two months after bottling but after that, it was the best pumpkin beer I have ever tasted.
