Taprite rebuild kit - little rubber washer?

I bought a taprite rebuild kit to try and fix a leaky secondary and the instructions don't mention what to do with the little rubber washer that comes with the kit and it doesn't seem to fit anywhere I could figure out. What's it for or it even needed?

Tracking down very tiny regulator leak

That did the trick, thanks! The gauge I had set to 40 in the pic had a very tiny leak right where the metal C part of the gauge mechanism was soldered to the base.

Tracking down very tiny regulator leak

I never thought of that, but it would make sense considering no other connections have obvious signs of leaking. Any tips for checking that? I've not been able to find anything online aside from the soak the other connections and look for bubbles

Tracking down very tiny regulator leak

I'm dusting off my regulators after an over 1 year hiatus and I noticed that there must be a very tiny leak somewhere because after pressuring the set and then closing all shut-off valves including the one from the tank regulator they will lose pressure over a few days - for example in my pic...

Solenoid instead of tap handle lock

I tried a cheaper one way back and the selonoid would get pretty hot with operation of more than a second or two. Not sure how much of the heat got transferred into the line though since I abandoned the idea after a test run out of caution.

Sanke Keg system - required equipment

Back when I started kegging I used sankey kegs but I just pried put the retaining ring holding the spear in after making sure they were depressurized and then you can pull the whole spear out and clean/fill the same as you do a carboy. Then I just put the spear back in and used one of these in...

    CRAIG's LIST Find

These are what I used and while it can take a little bit of fiddling to work the coupler past the ears the first few times they work great. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5338413729&icep_item=370292285982

    CRAIG's LIST Find

You dont need special equipment to clean sankes. Just pull the spear out and clean like anything else. You can even buy snap rings to replace the spiral retainer ring it came with for pretty cheap to make it even easier the second time. I moved to corny kegs though because you cant easily carb...

    Is GFCI really needed?

This raises a question for me: do GFCI breakers have a limited number of times they can trip (including tests) before going "bad". I have heard that normal breakers do, and that is why you shouldn't also use them as a disconnect. I did have an issue last year where my pool pump was randomly...

    Size of CO2 tank

I was in the 5lb club but it got to be too much when the fire extinguisher place that was convenient stopped doing it for whatever reason. Discovered that the hydroponic store down the street does 20lb swaps at the same price I was filling my 5lb tank at plus they are open until 8pm 7 days a...

    CO2 refills in Las Vegas?

Does anyone have any recommendations for getting my CO2 tank refilled in Las Vegas/Henderson? I used to go to SimplexGrinnell but they just told me that they no longer do it, which is a bummer because they are right near my house. I'd rather not swap if I can avoid it because I have a nice tank...
