    Completed DIY Kegerator

Pretty cool looking. What is the interior volume? What size/number of kegs will it hold? Are you using the thermostat that came with the fridge or an external temperature controller?

Are you happy with your plate chiller?

No problem. According to Duda Diesel's web site, a 30 plate chiller will chill 10 gallons with less than 30 gallons of water. Of course, it depends on the temp of the chill water. That's why I would use a pre-chiller on the chill water side. Good luck.

Are you happy with your plate chiller?

I have a 30 plate Duda Diesel plate chiller. I live in SW Ohio where the ground water temps can be in the 70s in the summer. I recently brewed with the ground water temp at 72F. I used a pre-chiller, my old IC in cooler filled with ice water, and was able to get 66F cooled wort at ~1gpm...

    March pump showed up broken

I've used a March 809PL (plastic) head pump since 2006, with at least 100 brews and I have not had any problems with breakage. I have SS fittings on the inlet outlet side and then two valves. Never a problem and no worries about breakage. I am surprised that Morebeer shipped a pump with the...

Historical Beer: Kentucky Common "Kiss Yer Cousin" Rye Kentucky Common Ale

Because of the rye and the corn, this beer does not fit either of those two categories. It also does not fit in category 6d because of the corn and the dark malt (black patent in the original recipe). I would enter this beer in Category 23, Specialty Beers.:mug:

Historical Beer: Kentucky Common "Kiss Yer Cousin" Rye Kentucky Common Ale

The first time I brewed it, i left it in primary for 30 days. Then ~ 10 days to carbonate it. The first taste told me that i had hit a home run with this beer.:ban: Second batch, I moved it to secondary after two weeks because I needed the primary fermenter for an IPA I brewed. The 2nd...

Which is better: pre-chiller/immersion chiller or the full length immersion chiller?

I am in Xenia, OH, and the ground water temps are in the low 50s in the winter and in the 70s in the summer. When I was using an IC, that was the process I used. Cool with straight hose water until temps were around 110F then switch to pumping ice water through the IC. I could get temps down...

New way to control Pellet Hop gunk!

Used 1.5 ounces of pellet hops. Only two pellets were dry, they were in the hollow part of the bottom stopper. Pulled the stoppers out and rinsed the used hops out. Very easy. I am pretty sure multiple additions would work fine in the carboy dry hopper.

    ebay aquarium temp controller build

Yeah, I put in a red and a green like other folks. Makes it very easy to see what the controller is doing. I wired mine in parallel before the outlets.
