    siphon question?

Sorry but I know the tubing is correct but it could be co2 then? So i should not worry about this at all? How can I tell the difference? And can I do anything to be sure? But on a side note there is no off flavors so far from the beer that i can taste....

    siphon question?

This might sound stupid but I have a question on siphoning the beer. I have done about 10 batches and continue to have this problem with air bubbles in my tube when i transfer my beer from primary to secondary and to kegs ect. I have an auto siphon and 1/2 inch tube fits around snug. But when...

    Does this IPA look ok?

So from my understanding I should do 4.5 gallons for 60 then add 2.5 gallons for 10 minutes and then drain the mash tun. Then rinse the grains with 2.5 gallons again? I am having a bit of trouble understanding this. I am going to try and read further because i have not done it this way...

    Does this IPA look ok?

Is there a huge difference because I have only done sparge additions? And how do i configure this in beer smith because I can't seem to find it on the drop down menu?, I am using an online calculator for the water additions

    Does this IPA look ok?

Thanks for the responce, I used simcoe as a bettering for my last IPA and it worked great so i will try 1oz of simcoe for 60 instead of Citra and for the batch sparge i will use 4 gallons for mash in and 5 gallons mash out. Does this sound right?

Hi I just had a question about the two different programs at UCD Masters Brews Program and Professional Brewers Certificate. First the two seem very similar to me but i see that the Master Brewers Program prepares you for the IBD. Is there any real difference in these programs to attempt to...

    Hop Schedule

Should I just start off with .5oz of simcoe at 60min? Then do flavor hops at 20-0min. I love a lot of hop flavor and a good amount bitterness. But my favorite ipa is west cost ipa 88 ibu (i think). But would like more hop flavor so add more simcoe in the last 15min or so and at boil out...

    Adding orange zest?

By cleaning do you mean starstan or just soap and hot water? Could i soak the oranges in 160 degree temp then do starstan or is this over kill. I don't want to take any of the orange flavor away from the orange.

    Adding orange zest?

Just a quick question on adding orange zest. From my under standing in adding zest you can do it at boil out or add to the secondary. But to get the zest ready you peal the orange and boil the zest to kill the bacteria. Now here comes one of my questions, do i just strain and add the orange...
