    What are you drinking now?

To Dgallo Your homebrews look great but your labels are amazing. Who designed the graphics for you? Which company did your labels? I ended up just designing a basic label and leaving a small blank space off to the side to write in each beer’s individual stats. Probably because I’m Dutch and...

    What are you drinking now?

California Fresh Market in SLO Going to check out the Pismo location for some Humble Sea IPAs. I moved to Idaho a few years ago so some of these are new to me.

    What are you drinking now?

Found one of the best craft beer shops on the West Coast. Sorry, no East Coast offerings. King Sue was the furthest East I noticed. I’ve never seen so many Anchorage brewing beers. Next time I’ll bring 2 chiller bags. Had to buy some Juicy Bits since I hadn’t had it in years and one of my HB...

Help getting better coffee roast/dark chocolate balance from grains in Imperial Stout

I make a chocolate Rye Milk Stout that I really like. I’m on a road trip and my wife is hogging the computer with my BS recipes but I would say that adding multiple types of chocolate malts added to the complexity. I would boost the % chocolate malts but use a light and dark chocolate malt. I...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I whirlpool and let it settle for about 30min. Most of the hops/trub stays in the kettle. I used to filter the wort with a kitchen strainer when filling up the fermenter but it would clog up with hops and was a mess so I skipped that step and I couldn’t tell the difference honestly. I think the...

    What are you drinking now?

Tying flies is thirsty business. This crowler was a road trip gem I grabbed in Casper, WY. Mountain Hops is a 3BBL brewery. This hazy is called 8th Wonder(of WY) with Citra/Mosaic/El Dorado DH I asked the brewer if he fruited it. Nope He also had a blood orange Wit that was ridiculous. Cheers!

What NZ and Australian hops do you enjoy the most?

I bought a pound of Nectaron off a tip at night on the forum and YVH was sold out the next day. Paired it with Nelson and it turned out great. After years of shying away from mediocre Galaxy I did buy some Galaxy from YVH since I’ve had good luck with them. My latest ipa had Riwaka/Rakau/Motueka...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Initially I was surprised by how many top tier brewers DO NOT dry hop during active fermentation when brewing hazy IPAs. (And there are some who do it) The main reasons stated were the preference to harvest yeast before adding hops, avoiding “muddled” hop aromas, and minimizing hop aromatics...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

The weekend brew plans didn’t pan out so I had to do a Monday brew session. I was excited to get my new system out on the deck but we had hail the other day in Idaho so this was probably my last indoor brew day for the non-winter brew season. This was a golden rye ipa w Idaho7/Southern Cross WP...

    Best NEIPA hop combos

I just made an IPA which had some Citra Lupomax. I used it like I usually use the YCH LupuLN2 cryo pellets and was really pleased with the results. I’ve always substituted 1oz cryo for 2oz T90. In looking at the LupuLN2 specs it lists the Citra cryo as having 24-26% AA, with 3.5-5.5% total oil...
