Homebrew Talk Super Awesome Happy Funtime Giveaway

Hello @TxBrew Thanks for keeping us busy Vision in progress.:bravo:

    Bru Gear

Does it really matter what the question was? If it was for something outside their "product or service offering" a simple "we don't provide that" or "check out blah, blah, blah" would suffice. The responses in this thread illustrate a pattern of behavior that is just unacceptable when...

    Bru Gear

A sale item is only of value when it is something you are looking for and can get it in a timely manner. After several Bru Gear purchases and months of no-response I have given up on Bru Gear for my future needs and have been looking at the custom product from Spike Brewing, at a minimum I...

Easy & Cheap Stainless Vent Hood

hmm, i was reading on my setup and everything points towards almost 2k CFM required for the heat and moisture id be producing(3x 100k BTU gas burners). thats why i was curious with your fan. Thanks for the response. I think you need to address each of these heat sources independently: 1)...

Easy & Cheap Stainless Vent Hood

There's plenty of CFM to move out the moisture if you design a low impedance path (minimize elbows) use straight pipe over corrugated and minimize air leaks. I use electric. Good luck.

    Bru Gear Kettles

I already have a 10 gal kettle & the 14 gal Profermenter so I asked Phil for a cost on 2 15 gal Gen 2 kettles with additional fittings (just like the electric versions of Gen 1). It's been 2 months now without a response. I know I should look at others but I really want TC fittings without any...

Easy & Cheap Stainless Vent Hood

Just my 2c. Why is the steam condensing? 1) Not enough velocity? 2) High impedance ducting? 3) External air keeping the motor and duct cold? I'm guessing it's mainly #3, but that's only an opinion as that is one helluva motor there and the run is quite short. I've seen a lot of...

    Bru Gear

I received a 14 gall fermenter last month, it took a few weeks from the initial order as they were waiting for a component. I'd suggest sending an email asking for an update. All the best.

    Bru Gear

My Bru Gear 10 gall is pretty solid and the TC fittings are real nice with good welds. Blichman has the following recommendation on their site regarding kettle sizing: Recommended Three Kettle Systems For Typical Batch Sizes (HLT / Mash / Boil) 5 gal batch: 7.5/7.5/10 or for high...

Easy & Cheap Stainless Vent Hood

Hello stickyfinger, I'm also using the Tjernlund M6 fan. If you were to suspend the fan in free air, unless there is a distorted blade I think you'll find the unit is balanced and pretty quiet considering the volume of air it is moving, at least this is the case for my unit. Noise is often...

Easy & Cheap Stainless Vent Hood

Designing the most appropriate system will vary with need. If being able to move the fan out of the way is a priority for you, then go for it. Just remember that to achieve that flexibility you will probably need flexible ducting, which isn't the most efficient (lowest impedance) for moving...

    Bru Gear

I brew with a 3500W induction top but was looking for faster boiling capability so I added the new 4500W stainless element from Brewers hardware. I can now power both heating elements simultaneously from my 40A 240V sub panel. In a recent test run of just water, my boiling time for a 7 gal...

    Bru Gear

Aside from the lack of any genuine customer support the product does what it is designed to do. I have the exact kettle you are looking at and am very happy with its performance. It is sturdy, welds are good and looks fine except that the Bru Gear logo is off-center with the handles and TC...

    Bru Gear

Really nice work there on the setup, very clean looking. As a Bru Gear owner I've been following this post with great interest and agree with the lack of support, I met Phil in Phoenix and he was a super nice guy but unfortunately the company hasn't delivered on the talk. My experience...

    Bru Gear

If you cut some (4-6) 1/8" deep notches perpendicular to the opening with a hacksaw, would this aid in flow? I like the idea that you are close to the bottom but possibly need some more "space" to draw the wort. The Bru Gear tube does look wider than the Stout if you measure horizontally as...
