    Brewmasters Warehouse

I'm having the same problem. Ordered over a week ago and was just shipped out Friday. Emailed them, no reply. Called them, lied straight to my ear and said would be shipped out last Tuesday. Continually got the run around every day after. Took them less than 30 mins to take money out my account...

Your mash-tun: false bottom or manifold?

What you you have at the bottom of your tun? Why? If you've used both which worked better? I have a manifold. My attempts at making a false bottom failed miserably so making a manifold was the only option.

    Fresh maple mash paddle

Hey I just made a mash paddle out of a fresh cut piece of maple (literally cut off the tree). Was just wondering what a brew-safe method to stop any warping? I heard to avoid most finishes, are there any that won't mess with the mash? Also heard to rub mineral oil on it. Thanks.

    Wort chiller

Haha I knew there had to be something useful about Connecticut winters. Been letting it air cool but just got this thing free so i figured I'd give it a try and cut time. The pump I use has a built in mesh screen but idk if it'll be thin enough to filter the hops. Sounds like you guys arnt to...

    Wort chiller

Yea it was still in the box and sealed. He bought it a couple years back but decided to just sell the truck rather than rip out the dash. Positive its lead free and has never been used. Didn't think about the whole hop clogging part. Don't think anybody has done it before cause heater cores...

    Wort chiller

The fins are aluminum and the tubing inside is copper. It's all pressed so there are no welds. I don't see any contamination problems. Have cleaned it out with a multitude of cleaning solutions and checked it for any leaks.

    Wort chiller

Hey My friend was gonna throw out an old heater core (never used so don't have to worry about any anti freeze in it) so I asked him for it and he gave it to me. I wanna turn it into a wort chiller. For anybody who doesn't know what they look like its basically a miniature version of a cars...

    Oat malt in porter

Hey, Was looking in a brew magazine kinda casually thinking about making a porter recipe and came across oat malt. I've never used it before but the description definitely intrigued me. I'm looking at designing a 5 gallon robust porter but haven't really decided on the grain. I was just...

    Malt extract = to grain?

No tasting notes, it's from Midwest supplies dark wheat kit. Am planning on making my own all grain recipe and was just checking around to get an idea of what grains to get. Came across this one with the extract and figured if there was a rule of thumb for conversion it might be a good piece of...

    Malt extract = to grain?

Does 1lb of extract generally or theoretically translate to 1lb of grain? Just wondering if I can directly translate a malt recipe to a grain recipe.
