Cal common is a pretty particular style. Not just because of the yeast. Seems to me the IPA will just be a little cleaner, maybe an IPL, and the Cala Common will still be a common just a bit more yeast character.
I wish I had your problem. I am also in the Middle East and i have no access to ingredients. Only way is to bring with me on the plane for about a year at a time. Shipping is a no go as it’s crazy expensive. Can make about 20 gallons a year.
I have used the gigawort to make 2.5 gallon batches all grain. Depending on your grain bill, you may need to do a small “pour over” sparge. I didn’t, but mine wasn’t a large grain bill. Otherwise,it’s the same as the robobrew just smaller.
I purchased the Gigawort from Northern Brewer because I am in the same boat as you. I don’t need 5 gallon batches and I like variety and getting to brew more often. It’s the same as a Mash& Boil and has performed well for me. They say it is for partial mash brewing, but I have done 2.5 gallon...
