Thanks, that is what I thought. Flat homebrew is still better than no homebrew!!!! I have never stired before but I might start.

Last batch I put the sugar water in the bottom of the botteling bucket and racked on top of it. The first case of bottles carbed nicely, the 2nd some have been over and some flat. Could it be from not getting a good mix of the sugar? Usually I put the sugar water in half way through.

I do not use a secondary. I have dry hopped in the primary before and it came out fine.

2.5 gallon boil

use a late addition of 1/2 your extract. That will increase your IBUs

Yooper, IYO was my 2:4 ratio ok?

I boil 2.5 gallons and use a 16 qt pot. You have to watch it closely. Bigger wouold be better.

Just finished brewing a Blonde Ale and did my first late addition extract. Used 6 lbs of DME added 2lbs for 60 mins and 4lbs for 15 mins. Went well!! :mug:

I assume you put a lid on your bucket?

I have had both good luck and bad with old malt. I would chuck it and start fresh.
