    What are you drinking now?

May I ask how you added the strawberries? I'm getting ready to add them to my milkshake IPA in about a week and have read some things about the seeds creating an off-flavor.

What I did for beer today

I've never used strawberries before. The recipe the beer is loosely based on just says to mash the strawberries. Maybe puree and pass through a sieve would be better, to keep the seeds out.

    What are you drinking now?

HB mango blonde. I really need to stop being impatient. The beer cleared up nicely, and the mango is mellowing out perfectly.

What I did for beer today

Began soaking the vanilla bean for Kate (strawberry milkshake ipa). Got hop bags for dry hopping and frozen strawberries.

    What are you drinking now?

Guinness Tart Hibiscus Wheat. I like it, especially in this heat.

What I did for beer today

Made the starter for the Kate I'll be brewing tomorrow. Printed the next batch of labels.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'll be brewing Kate, a strawberry milkshake IPA, tomorrow.

    What are you drinking now?

Juliet is clearing up. Mango still prevalent, but I'm enjoying the change of pace from my usual dark and roasty favorites.

What I did for beer today

Soaked the oak chips in Knob Creek two days ago. I came home from work last night, ready to make the cold brew, only to find out we are out of coffee. Guess I'm headed to the store as soon as it opens.

    What are you drinking now?

HB Juliet (mango blonde) tapped tonight. Not exactly what I was aiming for, but enjoyable. Hoping it'll clear up and mellow out a bit more.

Who's NOT making IPAs and what are you brewing?

Reason why I say loosely based: we have so many hops in the freezer, that I refuse to buy any unless there is no substitute. I also brew 2.5 gallon batches, so this is my scaled down recipe, based on this link: https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/homebrew-recipe/kentucky-breakfast-stout/ 7.5...

    Biggest (gravity) Beer You’ve Brewed

RIS headed into secondary to age on bourbon wood chips - OG 1.101. FG (corrected for alcohol) 1.027. 9.5%. Sample tasted pretty good. I did an overnight mash, and it worked well for me.

Who's NOT making IPAs and what are you brewing?

I have a RIS, loosely based on KBS, in primary. It'll be moved over to secondary soon to sit on bourbon and wood chips. I have my mango blonde ale kegged that will be tapped this weekend.

    What are you drinking now?

HB Caramel Macchiato Stout - the last one [emoji26]

What I did for beer today

Update - I have observed a noticeable difference when I do my overnight mash. The blonde's estimated OG was 1.051. Actual was 1.057. Estimated FG 1.013. Actual FG corrected for alcohol was 1.008. This took my estimated 5% blonde up to 6.2%. We kegged it yesterday, so the real test will be in...

    What are you drinking now?

A HB that was supposed to be a white stout but is much more like a coffee pale ale. Multiple lessons learned from this batch. Still a decent beer, even though it's completely different than what I was aiming for.
  19. B

    What are you drinking now?

The last HB Black Rock. [emoji22]

What I did for beer today

Kicked the Black Rock. Kegged the Juliet (mango blonde). Brewed the Sawyer (imperial stout). A long but productive day. And we are brewing my husband's father's day beer tomorrow!
