Supplication dregs and WLP655 Sour Blend Starter

Hey, experience is the best knowledge out there sometimes. If it worked great for you it should for me. Have you ever had any problems with it causing to large of a Pellicle due to the extra oxygen you introduced?

Supplication dregs and WLP655 Sour Blend Starter

I am making a supplication clone pitching the wlp655 and a starter of the full bill from supplication dregs. Not using one strain but using it all. My question is about the brett, is it bad to use a stir plate giving it all that oxygen?

Supplication dregs and WLP655 Sour Blend Starter

Should i make a starter for my WLP655 sour blend? Will the Brett be OK getting all the oxygen of the stir plate? Also should i make my supplication dregs in a separate starter and pitch it separate from the WLP655? Or can i just make a starter with the supplication dregs and WLP655 together?

    Glass or plastic?

Thanks for running this test. I was debating with myself between the two. I will probably go with the glass carboy, since i like to peek on the beer and pellicle without removing the lid of a plastic bucket etc.

Well to stick true with the closest clone we would use dried. Yes canned should work great, they use them in wines for hombrew wines.

    Attempting Supplication clone

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't know if you get Trader Joes stores where you live but they have them year round, without oil and un-sweetened, So i assume we want a nice tart cherry then?

    Attempting Supplication clone

Thanks! I will update through the process. Another question, is it necessary to crush the dried fruits? Or just go with whole Dried fruits. Was there a mention as to which cherry works the best?
