    Control Panel & Elements

I'm thinking a 3 way switch. Otherwise I'd have to run 3 temp controllers. 2 in which control the element in the HLT. I just figure a 3 way switch would be easier/less wiring/less clutter in the panel/more cost effective. Also yes I may be interested in the box. Is it the same size as what you...

From what I've read I'm going to need a 50a breaker. I'm going to be running 2 elements and pumps.

    Control Panel & Elements

Yes. I will have 3 temp probes. I'm going to use the Auber 120 because it will give the element full power till boil then automatically dial the power down to keep a rolling boil.

    GFCI Breakers

Thanks for responses guys. I figure the less clutter the better. I have to put in a breaker and run a line anyway. Why not just do it at the source.

    Control Panel & Elements

I am currently setting up a 20 gallon HERMS system. I'm mainly going to be brewing 10 gallons but wanted the capability to brew 15 gallons on command. So I'm thinking 2 5500w elements. One in my HLT and one in my BK. However I will need 3 temp probes. Now I am thinking about using the Auber...

    GFCI Breakers

I am new to electric brewing and have been doing a bunch of research and browsing the threads. I have a couple of questions. Is it necessary to do a spa panel or can I just do a GFCI breaker in my main panel of my house? I know for most people it is more cost effective to do a Spa panel and...

    New Kegging Questions

That's what I figured. I'm only going to be running 1 keg for a little while. So I should be set for a long time. :mug:

    New Kegging Questions

I'll look into that. I'm just going to be running 1 keg for now and expand later. A new 10# tank filled from the local welding supply shop is $80. That's a pretty good deal and even a 10# tank is too big. But I figure I'll grow into it. Thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated.

    New Kegging Questions

Thanks for the info. After looking around I was going to order from him and upgrade to the Taprite regulator. For now I'm just doing a picnic faucet. Why are you using 12' beer hoses now?

    New Kegging Questions

I may do a kit. That's why I was asking opinions. My local welding supply does 10# bottles.

    New Kegging Questions

I'm taking the big leap into kegging. It should have happened a long time ago! I have a few questions though. I was wondering what brand of CO2 regulators to look into. I know to get a 2 gauge regulator. Also I was going to get a 10# bottle. Was wondering where the best place is to get one and a...

    Two weeks of activity

You will most likely have some off flavors because you way under pitched. But let us know how it turns out in the end.

enough yeast? do I need more?

Yes you would have been ok using 1 smack pack with a starter. The starter builds up the amount of yeast cells so by the time you pitch it you have the correct amount of viable cells. For now just leave it alone. If you dont want to do a started in the future you can pitch 2 smack packs. But the...
