    LED light and beer

I'd be interested in those bug covers, thank you. Perhaps that would work. I appreciate all your help; you guys are awesome!

    LED light and beer

Yeah, right now I only turn it on intermittently. But I'm trying to have it to where I can see the fermentation (years later and I STILL can stare at it all day). Furthermore (but of less concern) is the fact that the marquis light on the top of the fridge is wired to the inside light and it...

    LED light and beer

So nobody out there knows whether or not LED's emit appreciable amounts of UV?

    LED light and beer

Oh it has a switch inside where you can turn it off. I just like the idea of having a light in there when I'm searching through my hop containers and whatnot. Also, it's in the garage and whenever the door is open, I throw a shirt over the carboy to make sure it gets no sunlight. It spends...

    LED light and beer

I have recently been the fortunate recipient of one of those monster commercial fridges, the ones with two sliding glass doors. It looks really snazzy with it all lit up and whatnot but I was bothered when I remembered how I always read to "never let your beer get in the sunlight or fluorescent...

    Screw Soldering! (Just-for-Copper)

+1 Congrats on thinking of new ways to do old tasks. If not for that mentality, we'd only have one style of beer....

    Screw Soldering! (Just-for-Copper)

I found something similar when fighting the soldering for one of the manifolds on my system. I used copper bond (five bucks for a tube from Lowe's) and never turned back. And if you need to do a repair, just heat the stuff up and pull the fitting apart. It couldn't be easier.

Best way to not crap up my therminator on the first try?

So what's the best course of action for making sure I don't clog my as yet unused Therminator? I have never used a CFC like it, and am only recently getting back into AG after a several year hiatus. I intend to use Hop Bags and whatnot to prevent the hops from clogging it, and I would imagine...

Cheers and hello from North Carolina !

Welcome to the forum. Whereabouts in NC?

Greetings from the beach of NC

Hi there, A little late on the welcome, but welcome nonetheless. By now I'm sure you've gotten started and have most of your equipment, but either way welcome to the hobby. As for clubs, you have to come check out a meeting of the Wort City Brewers. There currently are around a dozen of us...

Will this work? Designing single tier AG setup

Alright, so after brewing for years, I am FINALLY getting into All Grain brewing and have fabricated a one tier three burner set up with converted Sanke kegs. I have yet to get the pump and therminator mounted, but in the meantime I am deciding on how I want to sparge before I get too far...

    Ice for wort cooling...

No real easy way to tell exactly how sanitary it is. Some are better than others obviously... One thing I can say is do NOT leave it outside again. You're just begging for it to get contaminated that way. Unless of course you're brewing, say, a BirdCrap Bock or a Squirrel Spit Stout...

A hop cone in the glass

Hell, people pay 4 bucks for a glass full of crap at local bars, so I bet you could find someone (like all of us here) that would definitely spring for $.25 on top of a pint of yummy hoppiness! I'm down like four flat tires. Bring it.

What's with the forum police here?

And then, as if out of nowhere, Biermuncher (a.k.a. The Voice of Reason apparently) shows up with the best idea yet. Props to you. Most of us have an opinion on this, and it's doubtful that it will get settled here.

    40 oz bottles

Also, when they're ready to drink, don't forget you'll also need a bridge.....or overpass.... to drink under. Oh, and a newspaper blanket in case it's cold out. Nah, should work but just be careful with those caps- it can be tricky to assure that they are sanitized in those little nooks and...

    Getting a Dog Tomorrow!

You've made a wonderful decision. I had a doxie when I was little, and she was the best. I adopted my Great Dane last year- there are tons of those for adoption from people who can't handle their "sheer volume" as SWMBO calls it- and he has been one of the best decisions I've made.

    Dogs and gas

Yeah, I'm a congenital anosmic and, according to the docs, I can taste as well as your average person. Everyone thinks that taste and smell are totally connected, but it's not as big a deal as they make it. I spent a lot of my childhood getting studied because it's weird and relatively...

    Dogs and gas

Congrats on the adopt! As far as dog gas... I have a 168 lb great dane. When he farts, he has been known to make SWMBO gag. I'm anosmic so it doesn't bother me, but for her, I've seen he run out of the house like she was in a SWAT team tear gas raid. She could definitely relate. Also, I...
