Dorm fridge to yeast freezer conversion

So I was sitting here looking at my college dorm room fridge when I thought, "I've already converted a freezer to a fridge for my bar, but I bet I could go the other way and convert that fridge to a freezer for some yeast slants." So, anybody know about this? Seems like I could do the same...

    Beer Wars

Yeah, I was all hot to trot to go see it but I don't think I'll be able to make it. Sadly, the closest screening for us is one hour away in Myrtle Beach. And while we're on the subject, why only one day?

    Yeast vials

I had been in one of those factories before, and always wondered were these the same little "slugs" (I think that's what they call them) that I saw! I think modern marvels did a show on them too. I'm glad that someone else had heard of this.

    Stupid tv show water-cooler talk

Yeah man, no sweat. I think I might have secretly wanted my own chance to bring up how much I just LOVE hearing about her cat. I absolutely agreed with your stance and know what you mean. Ya know what I think is far more egregious? People talking about TV is one thing. I try to let it slide...

    Stupid tv show water-cooler talk

[yawn] Good ol' internet. Everything sounds angry and gets taken out of context no matter how hard you try. Ever noticed that? jmulligan, I was just saying I'd rather you "criticize to a bunch of strangers" any day rather than bottle it up and then end up boiling over one day and being a dick...

    Stupid tv show water-cooler talk

Well, but I bet they do. We all are all guilty of the same things we chastise others for. I have definitely seen people roll their eyes and whatnot when I talk about beer. And if they have a forum for American Idol, which I bet they do, I bet they make fun of us for, as I've heard it so aptly...

I at least applaud you for trying to find the good in things.... Even when there is no good.

    Bacon & Cheese Burrito

Well Biermuncher, I think you know what you have to do. I've given you the instructions. I've given you the list of ingredients. You know what you must do. Now go forth young man. Godspeed.

+111111111 Arrested Development is, was, and always will be the best show that ever fell upon mortal eyes. Glad to see there's another AD fan on here.

    Bacon & Cheese Burrito

Ok, well let me try my hand at this. I present to you the ultimate destroyer. Of worlds. And arteries. Anyone in NC want to get together and tackle this beast?

    Stupid tv show water-cooler talk

Thank god someone else hates this. My neighbor was talking with us at a party about something and somehow, much to my chagrin, the conversation shifted to American Idol. As I stared off into the distance, politely ignoring their little exchange, I suddenly realized that he could name off every...

    Flame height test

Sorry for the confusion. I meant cost to operate. I already have the Hi-pressure burners and love them. But when I create the next generation of brewstands I might upgrade to the banjos but not if they burn a tremendous amount more propane. And having used both, how much time do you think...

    Flame height test

+1 on the noise. My neighbors used to think I had a meth lab in the garage. Now they think I have a jet powered meth lab in my garage. Wildwest do you know approximately the difference in price between these high pressure burners and the banjo?

    Flame height test

I'll be interested to see if anybody has more info on this. I have three of these on my set-up. All I really know about them is they are high pressure and need an accompanying high pressure regulator. So sayeth my local Hank Hill, purveyor of fine propane products.

    LED light and beer

BrewBeermer, Here's the url. These bad boys are pretty damn expensive, what with being a new technology and all that, but a neat concept. Still not sure what I'm going to do for my application, but maybe this will help with yours. EverLED - LED Upgrade Replacement Hope that helps

    LED light and beer

True, but I more meant that when it's bottled it's in brown bottles which helps. Also, they are usually in a box and not as close to the light. I didn't mean they weren't at risk when bottled, rather, I meant that when bottled in my setup they are not at as much risk. The carboy however sits...

I hope you can see this... I'm high-fiving you all the way across state lines. Thanks for the info! :rockin:

    LED light and beer

Yeah, I'm less concerned about it once it's bottled as I am when it's fermenting. We all know that's when it's at the biggest risk for screw ups. I wonder how "yellow" these yellow lights are.

    LED light and beer

D'oh. You beat me to it. I think I might try that. If anyone knows for sure that they work, let me know. Gonna give it a shot in the meantime. Seems like it will work in theory, but we know how that goes....

    LED light and beer

So am I to understand then, that these UV filters should work? Mcmaster Carr No. 1626K71 I could cover the interior light, filter the UV and leave it on inside? Does anyone know if these work? I know one of you said you own them but have yet to use them.
