    Sorry, just realized that this experiment used atmospheric air, NOT pure O2. ...Oops! So, the results say: shaking carboy > any other method of using atmospheric air.

    Why are oxygen tank regulators necessary?

    Did anyone else read this? It says that rocking/shaking can achieve 90% oxygen saturation in water about 5 minutes, far faster than even a diffusion stone and pure o2. I guess I don't need an expensive oxygen system and stone after all. (If you don't mind rocking/shaking a 5.5 gallon carboy...
