+1 I have done both. As for adding water first then grain - I hit temps this way by allowing the MLT to come up to temp. Last mash lost 1 degree over 90 min. This is my preferred method, although I have had more doughballs this way. As for the other method I find it is easier to stir...

Did you vent the high pressure after turning down the regulator? It sounds like you overcarbed your beer while at the high pressure. Try turning it way down like 5psi for a couple of days.

That is really sad. That guy had 3 - little ones. He was pretty messed up after the whole thing with his family. But that is the right description. His truck had a huge falcon (I think falcon not a football guy) on the rear window. Man that sucks, I spent hours talking to him over the wall.
