    Tall Boy 10G Dimensions

Can anyone confirm the outer dimensions of the Tall Boy 10G Kettle for me? NortherBrewer's website says 13.3" Wide by 16" Tall, however a recent review contradicts that. Mine is currently on back order, and I'd like to order my BIAB and take advantage of free shipping from wilserbrewer...

    Recipe question

I plugged it into Beersmith. With 75/80% Effeciency you need about 3-5 more pounds of base to get it where you want. I'm assuming you are limited to 20# of grain in your MLT? Other options. you could add 1-2 pounds of corn sugar, or add 2-3 pounds of DME. (They are both in Beersmith...

Upgrading kettle. Time to abandon BIAB?

I don't think you need to abandon BIAB, but you could add a cooler MLT, and do batch sparging for larger gravity beers, but keep your setup for smaller ones. Below is an example of what I would do (and have done with an IPA) pending you have an existing pot that can hold 2 gallons....then you...

    2gall into 5gall keg

Can I ask why purge with co2 before? Seems kinda waste. Rack the beer. Hook up co2 Hold pressure relief open for about 5 seconds to purge air with co2. As co2 is heavier the air should be the first to vent out. Leaving a blanket of co2 above the beer. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    What does this mean?

What do you do for BIAB?

    What does this mean?

Yeah, when you first start transferring liquid from your mash tun to your boil kettle, that is when you add those 1oz of hops. You will keep sparging (batch/fly) like normal, the only difference is you will already have hops in your boil kettle. When all your wort is in the boil kettle...

    What does this mean?

As you are collecting the wort (from your mash tun) in your boil kettle, add your 1oz of hops. The 4.9% is the alpha % of the hops. If you look at the packaging of the hops, they are probably labeled with the alpha %.

    Any brewers in dodge county?

Hartford as well. All Grain for 2 years, just stepped up to 10G batches, but with 2 kids I have very little time to actually brew. I try to keep all three taps full, but unfortunately they have run dry.

    Plastic Big Mouth Bubbler

Just FYI, I had a gamma seal on a couple of my fermenters.....I just took the rings off and noticed a nice crusted gunk-ring all the way up underneath where the gamma ring sat.

    Sealing Bottling Bucket Hole

So I have a couple extra bottling buckets that I want to convert into fermenting buckets. I know I could keep the spigot in, and hope that is doesn't leak, but I will never use these for bottling, so I was hoping for a permanent way to seal these holes. Any ideas? Thanks.
