    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I can only address the middle question easily. The proper use setting is boil. The use field is derived from the beerXML standard. According to that standard, an aroma hop does not add to the IBU totals. In reality, any hop addition when the wort is > 160F will result in some amount of alpha...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Go into your equipment profile and set the hop utilization to 100. You may need to reset the equipment profile on your recipe. If that doesn't fix the problem, either respond here or enter a bug on https://bugs.launchpad.net/brewtarget Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Most of the fixes have been commited and rolled into HEAD. I'm not sure what the exact schedule is for releasing the bugfixes, but it should be soon.

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

This is part of the mess I made of the equipment editor. It will be fixed soon.

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Nope. I can reproduce. It seems to correct itself if you click around enough. I am fairly certain I know where to start looking for that kind of problem. I have assigned the bug to me and will figure it out once I have a few of the really burning problems taken care of. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Two responses. I have a fix for the first problem. We will need to discuss how we want to approach this. For the second problem, we don't support qt5 yet. It hasn't hit any of my development systems yet, so I don't even know what will happen. I would recommend going here...

Brewtarget 1.1 - Free open source brewing software

Can't say I have seen it, but I will look. For the record, you may want to open these questions up as individual threads. This thread is likely to bre removed as the other brewtarget annoucement threads were. Mik

Trouble with Brew target, mash setup

It likely has to do with either your equipment setup or the temperature of the grains you entered when you setup the mash schedule. I would check to make sure the specific temp of your mashtun is approximately correct and the weight is mostly correct. Mik

I'm so new even Brewtarget hurts my head. Can you help me?

Yes. The software will do that. The most important thing you need to do is make sure you set up your equipment profile correctly. If you right-click on the "Equipment" in the tree, you can add a new piece of equipment. Give it a name and then double click on the new entry. The important fields...

    Brewtarget hop order?

Weird. Never noticed neither the hops or the grains come out in any discernible order. I will put in a feature request to print the hops in order of addition and the grains by weight. Mik

Brewtarget 1.2.3 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

    1) Nope. As long as the extra boil was done before the hop schedule. 2) Dialing in your equipment is always a pain. Most likely, you don't have as much dead space in your mash tun as you have configured. On the equipment editor, adjust your lauter dead space until you get a better answer...

Brewtarget 1.2.3 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

Yes, it will be in a future release. I just can't make any promises about which one. We may have a rough skeleton in place by v1.2.5 (or whatever follows v1.2.4), but we are planning some large changes in that version and we may just not be able to get to this request. I am definitely hoping the...

Brewtarget 1.2.3 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

This may be a case of having a few different versions of Qt laying around. Make sure you only have one, and that one needs to be Qt 4.6 or later. If that doesn't turn out to be the case, let me know and I will dig deeper. Mik

In the hops tab, double-click on the "Use". It will become a drop-down list and you can select "first wort".

    Free beer software?

If you like beersmith, pay the coder for it. If you don't want to pay, use the free software (I rather like brewtarget, but I am admittedly biased) or use one of the several online packages.

Brewtarget 1.2.3 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

rocketman fixed this at the end of March. We are working towards a new release, but haven't scheduled anything definitive. You can either wait for the new release, or you can download the source from source forge and build the latest version (please! I have made some significant changes that...
