    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Assuming you are running on Windows Vista or later, try somewhere in c:\users\[NAME]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files(x86), where [NAME] is your user name on that machine.

BrewTarget 2.0 - Problem Saving New Equipment

This problem was fixed in February (https://bugs.launchpad.net/brewtarget/+bug/1132311). I think you may have grabbed a v2.0.0 from sourceforge or installed from a package manager? You really should install v2.0.1 -- that equipment bug was one of the nastier problems, but there are others...

BrewTarget 2.0 - Problem Saving New Equipment

I think this is a known bug. Can you give me an exact, click by click description of how you are doing this? If this is the bug I suspect, everything should work fine until you view the equipment profile either through the equipment editor or by clicking the button in the recipe tab, and...

    Double Decoction in Brew Target

Ok. I played with this a little bit and I think I get what's going on. A decoction step assumes you are drawing some amount of the thick wort off, bringing it to a boil and adding it back to the mash to reach a specific temperature. In this case, the "Amount" column is telling you how much...

    Double Decoction in Brew Target

I will look into this. Something doesn't look right there. Mik

    Using recipe without software

No need to use a computer. Plenty of people do the calculations by hand. How To Brew has most of the ones you need. From there, you just need a good brew journal so you can make notes and remember just what happened when you brewed that really good beer.

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Your only safe option is to make certain you have made a few backup copies before performing anything I recommend below. The database is just an sqlite file, so copying it around when brewtarget isn't running is fine. I would configure brewtarget to look in a Dropboxed folder via Tools ->...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

The default_db.sqlite is the version of the db that ships. You should point at the database.sqlite. If you are on *nix, you will find it in ~/.config/brewtarget. But if you were on *nix, we would have found it automatically. If you are on Windows, you will need to go hunting for it. Vista...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Yes. In version 2 or later, select the brewnote from the tree and right click on it. There should be an option to change the date.

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Can you try v2.0.1? There's been some wonkiness with the Mac builds and its the one platform I can't test or support. If v2.0.1 blows up on you, I will flag our Mac guy to see if he can help. Thanks, Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Are you using Windows? I am very close to actually making the upgrade process work. Upgrading to v2.0.2 should ask a one time question, and then we will do the right thing from there. Sorry for having to manually import all your recipes. The way brewtarget is working under the covers leads to...

Brewtarget 1.2.2 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

The older threads disappeared for reasons I never quite understood. I am willing to help figure out what went wrong with your equipment profiles when upgrading. I would suggest waiting until the next minor release (v2.0.2). It fixes a few bugs with (oddly enough) upgrading on Windows and some...

Brewtarget 1.2.2 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

This is an old thread. If you are still using 1.2.2, we are no longer actively developing that branch. v2.0.1 is our current version and v2.0.2 is hopefully being released as soon as I can get my windows dev environment rebuilt. I believe we have addresses this issue in the v2 releases...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Glad you like the software. We work hard on it. Thanks for the detailed question. Oddly, I think I have seen this question before and there is a reason for it. Not a good reason, mind you, but a reason. Let me dig through some archives to see if I can find the explanation. Failing that, I...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

According to http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jf990101k?prevSearch=%2528humulus%2Blupulus%2529%2BNOT%2B%255Batype%253A%2Bad%255D%2BNOT%2B%255Batype%253A%2Bacs-toc%255D&searchHistoryKey=#citing, some amount of the XN makes it through from the mash hopping to the sweet wort and gets isomerized...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Oddly, there isn't. The vm image I used for doing my Windows testing has suddenly decided it isn't properly licensed any longer, and I haven't had time to put it all back together inside another vm. Is it at all possible you could at least capture the text when it happens. It may provide a...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Were the recipes imported/converted recipes? How did you try to modify the equipment? Literally, which buttons did you click to modify the equipment? When you assign an equipment profile to a recipe, we actually make a copy of that profile and assign that to the recipe. So it matters how you...
