Is there a resealable cap available for plastic gallon water jugs ?

Here is one that fits aquafina bottles. I hear that people use these caps on a lot of crusies, haha. If you are looking for something else search for "sneak caps" on ebay. They have a lot of choices... https://www.ebay.com/itm/141733169584?hash=item20fff489b0:g:Z6cAAOSw~gRVvBCQ

    Beer stone ?

I picked up an old whiskey bottle that has some kind of scale that resists almost everything. I'll try the juice next. I hate to use CLR on brewing equipment.

    Five gallon bucket

Some places will give you the 4 gallon square food grade buckets too. They are good for smaller batches.

Do some winemakers really ferment 'dry' before moving to an airlock?

I don't use an airlock at all when using 1 gallon jugs. I just crack the lid a little to let CO2 escape.

    Five gallon bucket

Probably because they can't make a profit off of them, knowing that most folks can get them cheap or free elsewhere.

Need help diagnosing/fixing freezer that is not cooling

My Grandma had a very old fridge at a lake house. Every spring when she got there for the season, she had to give the compressor a little bop with a hammer. It would then work all season. Once when I had moved I had a similar problem. I was on the way to smack the compressor with a hammer when...

Friend wants to brew a weed beer

Yeah the doctor is correct. It wouldn't be worth the trouble. MJ tea just tastes bad and if there is any resin at all in there it will probably be a pain to clean as you suggested. If it's leaves, tell him to make butter and from there cupcakes. Beer and cake go well together, I don't care what...

    Cutting tips of bines

Hey guys. I thought I'd get started on trying to clone hops. Thanks to the (MIA) OP for starting this thread and those who jumped in. I had my hops mixed up and it was not the Centennial, but a Crystal that I am cloning here...

My First Attempt at Cloning a Scrawny Crystal

I took this cutting from the 3rd bine that came up. Some friends want cuttings and I want redundancy so I plan to take as many cuttings as this bine will give. Now if my Centennial would throw some more shoots !

And here she is all watered in. The coffee cup will keep it stable and if I have to go away, I can put a little water in there that will get wicked up.

Then I took my cutting. I removed a set of leaves with scissors. I then scraped the stem and node with a sharp knife to rough it up a bit.
