    The Home Made Pizza Thread

You can try it, but its going to make for a thicker crust I would suggest you use the strongest flour you can get and maybe add a little extra wheat gluten. The thicker the crust the longer you need to cook it at a lower temperature good luck

Im glad to see im not the only one with 50 pounds of flour although I use almost exclusively KAF. I will have to look up the specs on that flour but it sounds like a first clear. This thread is really making me want pizza, which is surprising considering I am stuck eating it for lunch 2-3...

A stone is a MUST for good thin crust pizza at home, if your in to pan pizza ( which I am not) then a stone might not be worth the cost of entry. If you going to buy a stone don't waste your money on a cheap one. I bought two cheapies, both of which broke with in a month, they are not able...

    DIY Walk In Cooler Build

Why all the work to infill the stud cavities with XPS ? It's a lot of work and money espeically if your shopping at the HD. I would have infilled with roxul or HD fiberglass and done an interior foam wrap. It's cheaper easier and elimiates thermal breaks. I am not trying to critique what...

it could also be the flour some of the cheaper AP flours are lower in protein content ( <9%) and will never make a good pizza crust. I only use King Arthur flours as even their AP is 11.7%, you would be amazed how thin you can stretch their 14% sir lancelot flour

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

The worst beer I have had in recent history was the founder saison, I think they confused slightly fermented lawn clippings with hop pellets. It was the first beer in a while I almost did finish.

Don't roast your own coffee beans!

Fresh roasted coffee is the best, that being said I am NOT going to start roasting my own but it could be because my shop is in the same building as these guys http://www.piercebroscoffee.com/servlet/StoreFront They make some damn good coffee

Meat is not a protein source

I have to disagree, meat may not have evolved for us to eat it but there is a large body of evidence including the teath in our heads that says eating meat most definatley allowed us to evolve in to who we are today. It's would have been all most impossible for a gatherer type to get enough...

    Sanity check on 60amp wiring

Disclaimer I am not an electrician, and I don't know anything about electric brew set ups: That being said, you are not limited to cutler hammer breakers, almost all breakers these days are basic T slot and there is a lot of brand interchangability. So you might be able to save a few $$ there...
