    Conical Fermenter

People are always blowing money on unnecessary things. Hyundai's can get you from point A to point B just fine, but many people buy BMW's. A conical would never be part of my budget, but a few hundred dollars for whatever is budgeted for birthday's and other occassions. Why would my wife blow...

To Clone or not to Clone

Well, brewing is just plain fun, regardless of the recipe...and I suppose by comparing your brew with its inspiration, you could get a good gauge of your brewing skills.

    Conical Fermenter

My wife got me one of those cheaper ones off of ebay. I like it. I didn't really think of it as an unneccessary expense to making beer. Every year we each buy each other something frivilous (usually birthday) that we wouldn't buy under any other circumstances...last year, it was a conical for...

    Favorite HomeBrew

Currently it's BierMuncher's OctoberFast. I really liked how it came out...but I think it may have some competition with the Belgian Pale Ale that will be ready in a couple of weeks. I tasted one yesterday at one week in the bottle, and it was delicious. I can't wait for the two week test.

What ever happened to beer balls?

My brother and I were just talking about these the other day...and how some people would decorate their front yard lamp poles with them.

Losing weight and inches without giving up beer

I'm the opposite, the miles I'm not worried about. Almost 15 beers in a day would be fine too...it's the seven days in a row. It's going to be during a vacation week, with the beers spread out evenly throughout the day...mmmm...breakfast beer. I'm hoping on getting the miles done in 6 days...

Losing weight and inches without giving up beer

Not many details...run 100 miles, drink 100 beers...all in one week:) I suppose there would have to be 100 glasses of water thrown in there to survive.

Losing weight and inches without giving up beer

Calories in vs. calories out...Occam's razor. This is what works for me. I do however indulge in junk food, I just step up my mileage when I go overboard with the food and beer. Currently, I'm seriously contemplating the 100 miles, 100 beers in a week challenge :)

what am i doing wrong with liquid yeast?

This is what I do. I sprinkle it on all the foam I get from the pour, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then stir like crazy. Takes off great every time.

First AG - Embarrassing noob question

So I did my first AG this weekend, and confess to never having tasted the wort prior to fermenting until now. It tasted pretty sweet, and is fermenting away, so I'm pretty sure I got at least semi-decent conversion. My question is, it also tasted pretty grainy...is that normal?

    Will a dishwasher sanitize bottles?

I thoroughly rinse my bottles after I use them and place them on a bottle tree until it's time to bottle. My dishwasher doesn't have a sanitize setting, but I have used the pots and pans setting with heat dry and haven't had a problem yet. I've only been using this technique for the last 3...
