    Operation Trub Reduction

Next question. It's a 5 gallon batch with a 90 minute boil. I'm brewing on a pretty powerful stove top. How much should I start with in my kettle 6.5 gallons enough?

    Blow off tube size

About to brew a high OG double IPA (1.070-1.074). For the other batches I've brewed (brown ale) a three piece airlock with bottling tubing has been sufficient for a blow off tube. Do I need to go bigger for this one? It's a 5 gallon batch in a 6.5 gallon fermenter.

    Blow off tube size

Brewing a high OG (1.070-74) double IPA (5 gallons in a 6.5 gallon fermenter). Am I ok using an airlock (standard 3 piece) with tubing sticking out or should I buy a bigger bung with a larger diameter tube?

So just line the pot and remove post boil. Seems like a no brainier.

    Is this an infection

Brewers, Does this look like an infection or anything I should worry about? It's strong ale that's been in my primary for 13 days (first 5 gallon batch). I tasted some and it was real boozy to say the least. My question is should I bottle today (one day early) to limit any further...

Thanks! How much room do you have above the airlock? Is it crucial that I get an external thermostat?

    Haier Wine Cooler, model #HVFM20

Hi all, I just caught the brewing bug and as a newbie I need some help. I don't have a cool dark place to ferment and I'm looking for a wine fridge to help me out. I found the attached on Craigslist for a good price. The owner doesn't know the dimensions and its an old model so info is...
