Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Clone Attempt

Was this your only method for the 2nd dry hop addition or have you done it using primary then secondary, then kegged etc? Curious to know what the difference is... If you got way more aroma/flavor in the keg I might have to switch to that...

Large mouth carboy from Northern Brewer

I am curious to know how the cap itself will hold up over time after multiple fermentations etc. Looks like a solid design though, that's for sure.

Large mouth carboy from Northern Brewer

Yeah depending on how good these are (my only concern is there might be some sort of air pressure issue with the screw on cap) I am considering tossing all of my current carboys on craigslist and replacing with these... Cleaning the current carboys is a PITA.

Large mouth carboy from Northern Brewer

Thanks everyone for your input. Yeah only the test of time will find out the best results. I liked the comment above someone made about dry hopping... excellent selling point right there, a hop bag would work great in these... The pricing being identical to regular glass carboys is excellent...

Large mouth carboy from Northern Brewer

Has anyone purchased and/or tried this thing yet? There are no reviews on Northern Brewers site as of now... I love glass carboys and love this idea... I am a little curious about the seal itself... the ease of cleaning sells itself for me...

    Brinkmann turkey fryer kettle question

I battled with this burner for 2 years... I had the same issue, constantly shutting off, screwing up my boil times etc. Finally I had enough... If you can afford it, get yourself the blichmann floor burner... It's $150 (~$175 after shipping) and the time it saves will blow your mind vs the...

Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Clone Attempt

I say go for it man... just post your results!!! This will be my next brew, definitely my favorite clone/homebrew at the moment... I'd definitely go with a starter... especially if you intend on hitting the temps the recipe calls for. You're going to end up with lots of fermentable wort if...

Start-up Brewery... Interesting way to finance

I think you're missing the point of the article... yes you would need plenty of start-up capital etc and of course it was friends and family... who do you share your homebrew with? It's a pretty cool way to get the brewery off the ground or get it to the point where it can start producing...

Wit - Howto Get MOAR Flavor??

Agreed with moto above... Use a cheese grader to zest the orange and get just the peel... then "dry hop" it for a few days before bottling/kegging. I did this last time and I got that citrus punch I was looking for

    Hoptimum Clone

Fantastic and thank you for your input. I contacted SN about a clone recipe and they said they have gotten many requests for one but haven't had the time to come up with one yet for homebrewers. So if I ever hear back from them I'll be sure to share. In the meantime I will try this out as soon...
