I have $250 GC at amazon.com. what can i get?

Thanks for the ideas. I didnt realize amazon had pumps that i could use. Radical, the one you posted is a 230V, will that work in a standard outlet? or would I need to get this one? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000OLCIK0/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

I have $250 GC at amazon.com. what can i get?

I currently do (mostly) all grain batches with a 5 gallon cooler, keggle, and turkey fryer. I recently got a CFC, so i would like to get a pump at some point. I am also kegging using a converted sanyo. I dont see a pump on amazon that i can get, any other suggestions on upgrades?

    Newbie Kegging Help

Where are you getting a reading on that temperature? mid 30's at the top of the freezer could mean low 30's at the bottom.

    Adjusting Mash pH

So does adding the 5.2 buffer make everything ok? My water is low in Calcium, so I add gypsum. Would i get the same effect with just letting the buffer do its work on the PH?

    CFC temp question.

how long does it normally take you transfer the wort into the fermenter using just gravity? I was nervous about not using a pump or a wort wizard.

    CFC temp question.

When using a 25 foot CFC with the water on full, is it safe to assume that the wort will be chilled to approximatley the temperature of the hose water?

    Wort Wizard aeration

I think the concept is similar to using something like this. http://www.midwestsupplies.com/products/ProdByID.aspx?ProdID=7132 Siphon Sprayer: This handy device fits on the end of our standard 3/8” tubing. This device will aerate your cooled wort as you are transferring it from your brew...

Force Carb and Serving pressure question.

Thanks, i used those calculations, and it turns out i need more line. im not able to tackle that yet, so this is my temporary solution. But this brings up and interesting point, because one of my kegs will be from a brewery, what are the odds that my kegerator is setup to the same pressure...

Force Carb and Serving pressure question.

I am force carbing my kegs at 40 degrees and about 12-18 PSIs (depending on the style). My kegerator seems to pour best at about 8-9 PSIs. Is it ok to force carb for a week, and then dial down to the serving pressure, or am i going to run into some foam/pouring problems? Whats...

    Secondary Temps getting high

I am also having a hard time keeping my fermentation temperatures down. I did ok with the primary, and the majority of the fermentation is complete, but now the temps are creeping up into the 74-75 range. How does this affect my beer thats in the secondary assuming the fermentation really is...

How do commercial Brewereis carbonate kegs?

If they have say 200 kegs to carbonate, do they daisy chain them all and force carbonate or something? This came up as a discussion because I am getting a corny filled from a local brewery (Alesmith) and im curios as to what they are going to do to get me carbonated beer. Im guessing they will...

    recliming yeast?

I actually was talking about using new yeast, it just seems easier to keep sanitized. So maybe I can buy a vial for my next brew, create a starter, sanitize the vial and fill it up from the starter after its fermented out, then use the rest of the yeast for regular fermentation? The saved...

    recliming yeast?

How would you suggest splitting a starter and storing it for say about 2 months? Does this sound resonable? Just make a starter, and after 48 hours or so, split the batch by pouring them into bottles and capping them. Then storing them in the refrigerator? Then just make a new starter when...

    Monitoring fermenting temp

Is there a probe on the back of this? how would it work with a carboy? or is it just taking the air temp?

Whoops my carboy is full of trub!

Looks like everything is going fine. Just give it some time to work. At least it looks like your able to keep the temperture where you want it. I live about 5 blocks from homebrewmart and my carboy is in a Keg Tub full of water to keep it around 68 degrees.
