With that OG, there will be more than enough for the bugs to chew on that the IBUs will not be an issue.

I agree. What's your OG Aschecte? 13 IBUs with an OG of 1.048 will have a greater impact than 13 IBUs with an OG of 1.057.

The really big key was knowing where you start with your own water--especially with sulfates and chloride. Ward labs is $16 well spent. I hope it works out for you Grinder. I bet our water is pretty similar in some respects.

So I just brewed up an IIPA with Safale US-05. I just tried a hydo sample and it suggests that it will be one of my best beers to date. Now I'm going to dry hop it and then carb it. Why is it one of my best to date? Because for the first time I feel I nailed the pH and water chemistry...

The 5/8" SS fender washers can be hard to find. The smaller HD in my area didn't carry them and I was lucky enough to to have a larger one just 15 miles away. The guy with the orange apron even called the other store for me and had them set the washers aside.
