    I am almost positive the OP is referring to the corn sugar for priming, not for the BK. I agree with everyone else here and say that you definitely want to steep some specialty grains. I'm only on my 3rd batch, but I can tell you its the easiest thing in the world and shouldn't be skipped.

    I pitched a dry yeast pack (Safale S-04) that I prepped first. From this point on I will be using liquid yeast and creating starters and using a stir plate. I'm not going to mess around with underpitching yeast from here out.
