Where to Run the Electrical in My Keezer

Sure, here's how I ran mine through the collar. Hope this helps! https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/kenmore-5-cu-ft-keezer-build-447686/

    Attenuation - Too Good

The amount of O2 definitely affects your attenuation, so maybe the easiest thing to change is next time hit it with the O2 for 30 seconds instead of a minute. Between these two examples you should be able to dial in the oxygen level you want for lower gravity beers.

    2014 Brewyears Resolutions

Start brewing sours! I think it's time to make something funky.

Painting the keezer.... in the cold?

I agree with cramar. I also had a bad experience with pushing the temp limit, and the second coat cracked and bubbled. This wasn't for a keezer and was a much smaller project, but I had to sand all the way down and start again. That would really suck to have to do that on a freezer.

Kenmore 5 cu ft keezer build

So, thanks to the many great threads here, I finally started my keezer. It's a collar keezer in a 5 cu ft freezer. It's tight, but I can fit three kegs in there. I'm starting with just two taps, with a third spot for aging. However, I never seem to have enough in the pipeline, so I think I'll be...

Why are my new Ventmatic faucets CRAP????

Damn, I hate to read this right now. I am just finishing up a keezer and have two of these sitting in a box ready to go. I have the 1.1 version, so we'll see how they work. I'm hoping to get them installed this weekend, but I've never had perlicks - so I don't really have anything to compare...

American Wheat Beer Fortunate Islands (American Wheat)

The hop flavor is just right, and it really has a complex flavor for such an easy drinker. I'm definitely going to be doing this one again.

    Soured IPA?

This! That is a really good beer that balances the sour with a nice hop aroma.

American Wheat Beer Fortunate Islands (American Wheat)

I was thinking about adding this recipe, but luckily decided to search first to see if it was here. I love this beer. You get an easy drinking beer with some amazing IPA-like hop qualities. Perfect for any hop head who is looking for something less heavy than an IPA. I'll try and get a picture...

Setting up a hops tasting experiment

Here's a great blog from a member here that describes exactly doing this: http://www.bertusbrewery.com/2013/03/dry-hopped-bud-light.html This discussion also made me think of recently I happened to have some cascade sitting nearby when I was making coffee. Decided to throw a few pellets into...

Help with Odell 5 barrel inspired ale

It probably would! This recipe doesn't have extract though, it's all grain. You could convert it to extract and keep the specialty grains though. I haven't looked at this recipe in a while, but I were to do it again I would completely change how it's hopped. The cascade needs to be in the...

Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker Union Jack

I love this beer! Too bad it's almost gone.

Custom cooler lid fail. Where did I go wrong?

Maybe try using a piece of plastic egg-crate style panel for lights that can be cut to fit in place. This could provide an internal structure for the foam.

Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker Union Jack

Ok, this one has been in the keg for a week, and it is really tasty! I've never actually had the union jack because I can't get it here. My bro lives in CO, so he's brought me some double union jack during visits. This beer is definitely what I imagined it would taste like. The bitterness and...

Place for a good price on grain?

Actually, northern brewer has a couple of locations here in MN. Funny enough Midwest is not too far away from the Minneapolis location too. It had been nice having these two stores be my lhbs.

    Design an IPA!

I would agree with going for a pale ale instead, since it doesn't seem like you have enough for an IPA. However, you can still get a hoppy beer out of this. Use the magnum for bittering, and push the rest as aroma hops. 10 lbs 2 Row .75 oz Magnum 60 min 1 oz cascade flame out/30 min hop stand...

Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker Union Jack

Hmmmm, I will have to wait and see how the bitterness turns out. Water can have a big impact on bitterness, so another place to try changing things up. I have hard water, so I usually I use about a half & half mix of tap water & plain RO water (not spring water). However, this time I used the...

Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker Union Jack

Ok, it's 7 days in and sitting at 1.014. I'm thinking it's closed to done, so I'll start the first dryhop tomorrow. After that I'll move it to the keg and do the second round there. The sample tasted so good already that I wanted to go back for seconds.
