I am in Revere MA and planting my 1st hops this season too. Not too sure of what to do myself, but figure with enough reading & playing it by ear, I should do OK. I'm planting Chinook, Kent Golding, Sterling & Nugget.
Welcome from Revere, MA. Yes, winters suck in this area, but there are ways of dealing with it. I've heard of people putting their fermenter in a rubbermaid container full of water and putting an aquarium heater in the water to keep it at a stabile temp. I'll be trying that next winter.
Welcome from Revere, MA. Good choice for your first brew, I love Harpoon IPA. I'm sure it will turn out fine, and then you'll be hooked. Nothing better than a batch of good beer that you brewed yourself.
I've got an 02 Harley SuperGlide. I love to brew, but I love to ride just as much. I'd love to have an instantly awesome brewing setup, but I think I'll wait and save up for it while I enjoy both hobbies.
Welcome from Revere, MA.
When you said "You name it and I have tried to smoke it," at first I wasn't aware that you meant BBQ until I read further. LOL

Bryan,
I will definitely let you in on any info I may get on sanitary welding. I do know that you need a tig (not a mig) welder. My brother-in-law is a welder by trade. I talked with him a while ago and he said he would be willing to help me out if I had access to the equipment. He just can't...
I am a total newbie to AG brewing and I'm starting to collect the parts to assemble my AG brew rig. I have a few kegs and was wondering if anyone knows of a sanitary tig welder North of Boston.
Also, what connections will I need welded on my HLT, MLT, and brew kettle? I would like to get...
I actually have a couple of kegs that no longer hold pressure and was thinking of using them instead of the plastic coolers. Do they make weldless fittings, and false bottoms, etc if that were the route I were to take? I am not a welder by any means.
