    ruination?

Frank the Tank was Will Ferrell"s character in the movie "Old School." It was about a group of older guys that start a fraternity so they can rent a house that is on a college property. It was sort of along the lines of Animal House. Great movie and in my eyes, Will Ferrell's best. If you...

Read about Jalapeno beer.. had to try it.

I tried a Chili Beer during a visit to Cave Creek AZ (just outside Scottsdale). It was a beer with a chili pepper on the bottom of the bottle. WOW, this beer was different. Tasted like beer with an aftertaste of spicy chili peppers.

I'm going to the early session on Saturday. I haven't been to any of the Beer Summit events, but if it's anything like the American Craft Beer Fest, it will be fun.

Trip to Boston - Suggestions on pubs?

Glad you had a great time in Boston. Too bad you didn't get to the Harpoon Brewery. It's in walking distance from the No Name Restaurant and they make it worth the trip.

    Good morning from San Diego

Welcome from Massachusetts. I've been out to San Diego a couple of times and loved it! What a great beer town. I'm a big fan of the Stone brewing Co, but tried many different microbreweries while in the area. Plenty of inspiration for the homebrewer.

    Boston Beer Summit

Alright, is anyone else looking forward to the Beer Summit in Boston coming up in April 17 & 18th? Tickets just went on sale and my birthday is on the 19th. My wife has already been instructed that I am expecting tickets for my birthday. I'll probably go to the early session on Saturday to avoid...

    Hello From New Hampshire

Incredibrew is a great place. The owners are really nice people and always helpful & friendly. They guide you through the brewing process and do all the cleanup for you. You walk out with a 6 case batch of beer (15 gals). On bottling day (only 2 weeks later), everyone usually puts up a sample...

    Hello From New Hampshire

Welcome from Revere MA. I am also new to homebrewing. My wife got me a brewing kit for Christmas too. I brewed a batch of Hophead IPA which came out awesome. Planning another batch very soon. Hopefully a Stone Ruination IPA clone. Things have been busy lately and haven't had as much time left...

I may have become a hop head

You're lucky, They go for like $8.50 per 22oz here in the Boston area. If I'm lucky enough to find a store that sells them by the 6 pack, they are $17.99. I'm brewing a Ruination clone next.

    Stone

I agree, I visited Stone Brewery last Fall and WOW! That place was amazing. Very homebrewer friendly during the tour and the free tastings after gave a great taste of their lineup. After the tour, My wife & I went to the beer garden... we were blown away! We loved it so much, we went back 3 times.

    Stone

I agree on the Ruination IPA. SUCH A GREAT BEER! I brewed a few batches of an Arrogant Bastard clone from a local "Brew Your Own" shop. It was great. I still have a few left and have been savoring them.

    Brand-new Boston-area brewer!

BTW, if you haven't gotten yourself a stainless steel brewpot, try Ocean State Job Lot. There is one in Danvers (near Ski Market across the way from Liberty Tree Mall) and they are only $15 for a 20 qt pot. They are a thinner guage steel than the more expensive ones, but it did just fine for me.

    Brand-new Boston-area brewer!

Welcome from Revere. I have also bought some supplies from Beer & Wine Hobby in Woburn. They were a bit pricey, but so are all the other shops in the area. I'm also new to homebrewing. Just tried my 1st batch last weekend, and it was great. I brewed a Hophead IPA and loved it. The kit was a...

I may have become a hop head

I love it! Another person converted into a hophead. I, like you, was not a big hop fan for a while. Somewhere along the line my cousin brought some hoppy homebrew (Hopzilla) by my house and I liked it. Still a bit on the hoppy side for me, but I enjoyed it. As my pallette evolved, I got more and...
