Crisp Dark Mild - Recipe Input

Think I'm going to go with the recipe as tweaked below. Introducing a little midnight wheat to the bill for color while retaining the traditional malted wheat for that tart/spice character (as well as some nice head retention). I've added some lighter crystal to balance the dark crystal, and...

    Franklin's Winter IPA (Recipe Check)

Hi all - thanks for the responses on this one! I brewed the recipe as posted above and have been quite pleased with early samples. The beer is just wrapping up bottle conditioning, so I will post a photo and full tasting notes shortly. I like the suggestion of using Chinook going forward. Early...

Crisp Dark Mild - Recipe Input

Thanks Miraculix! I'm brewing on a fairly new system (this will be my fourth batch), and I'm still getting it dialed in. I'm ranging between 71 - 75% efficiency, so I'm hedging this recipe a bit on the off chance that it comes in a bit below 75%, which would drop it closer to the lower ABV you...

Crisp Dark Mild - Recipe Input

Hi all, I've been wanting to brew a dark mild and found the recipe posted on Crisp's website (https://crispmalt.com/en-us/recipes/dark-mild/). I've made some adjustments for my system and preferences, but wanted to poll this community to see if anyone has brewed it. Even if you haven't brewed...

    Ommegang BPA-like recipe: comments?

Sorry to resurrect this from the dead, but I had a random hankering for this beer and wanted to see if anyone ever brewed it. I found online that the beer contains pilsner, belgian pale, munich, caramel and aromatic malts. It is bittered with Columbus, falvor/aroma with Styrian Golding, and Dry...

    Greetings from Long Island

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to check out his shop! Brooklyn is blessed with so many great breweries and bars. I miss my regular trips to Other Half and Finback. Also miss Bierwax, a great craft beer spot in Prospect Heights that's always spinning great vinyl.

    Franklin's Winter IPA (Recipe Check)

Hi all, long time listener first time caller. I'm looking to get away from my usual obsession with hazy NEIPAs and want to brew a bigger (old school?) West Coast IPA with a little bit more malt backbone for the winter months here in the American northeast. Also targeting a big Piney/Citrusy hop...
