    Gravity reading low

Hey beer brewers, I have a gravity reading question. I've had a English Honey Ale in my primary for 6 days. Just took a reading and it was at 1.012. Beer tastes slightly carbonated, a little watered down, but mostly like BEER. Wondering if this is a normal reading for 6 full days of active...

So I woke up this morning to see my first brew fermenting nicely. I was thinking how awesome, this thing I created. Then, to my horror I look up at my fermenting plug and see that the CO2 release is out of the plug and the plug had a tooth hole in it. The batch was exposed to air in the middle...

    Women Brewers

Just started in the hobby, loving it and obsessed. I know how you ladies feel. I haven't been in it long enough to feel the male ignorance, but I was an MP with the US Army for 8 years, so you can imagine. All I have to say is "bring it on"! I'm not big and scary, just a hot tempered...

    Yeast settled already

Hey gang! Just brewed my first batch yesterday. I rehydrated the yeast, per instructions, and pitched it at about 78 F. I stored it at a 65 F location, it's an ale yeast, and when I took a good look at it this morning it looks like there is a lot of cream colored sediment at the bottom of my...

Parks usually have a "no alcohol" rule, so it would have to be someone's property. I'm thinking early July or early August. 1990dtgl98 Congrats on the marriage! Just did that in November myself.

At the risk of stepping on anyone's toes, let's do this! First Annual Lancaster County (all are welcome) Home brewer's Cookout? Festival would sound better but I'm not renting a moon bounce for you all. Sorry. Hmmm beer + moon bounce….. Any suggested dates and locations?

1990dtgl98, I'm sure you're right about the "crack". Can’t even blame this one on peer pressure! "Perhaps some sort of local homebrewers cookout is in order this summer..." Don't get me started Lancastrians! I'm up for that. A pavilion, kegs, and burgers, I'm there! Just give me...

XXguy, Thanks for the feedback. It's good to hear the pros and cons. Sounds like you've had experience with it. I've been wanting to try a rich organic clover honey mostly for priming. How long would you recommend for proper carbonation? Thanks

Zamial, That is a huge help on the honey. I think you're on to something. I've heard similar measurements. Please let me know how it turns out for you.
