    Chocolate Stout Recipe?

I just looked back at my records and I have always used 1lb 4oz. I thought maybe the transition to Beersmith 2 messed something up, but nope. No complaints from her or from my taste buds. Cheers

    Chocolate Stout Recipe?

Here is a "wife approved" chocolate cherry stout. Just leave out the cherry, it is amazing without it as well. My wife is not a drinker, and for sure not a beer drinker BUT she will drink this and actually asks me to brew it. Just did a batch 1 week ago! I will try to update my on line...

    Smashbomb Atomic Clone

I brewed the clone over the weekend. The brew went wonderful, the color looks like it is right on. See here for photos and specific numbers. I came out just a bit low on OG most likely due to changes in my grain mill usage.... All Grain Clone–Smashbomb Atomic IPA Brewday Notes

Dave Miller Homebrewing Guide - Temp Corrections

I have the subject book and I USED to have a little card that had a list of typos on it that corrected many temperatures throughout the book. It looks like my card is gone? Does anyone else have this temperature correction card for all the typos in the book? Cheers

    Smashbomb Atomic Clone

Here is my version. I live about 300 yards from the brewery and this is on of my favorites. I basically took one of the recipes above and tried to adjust the color to fit better and adjusted the victory for a more normal usage. I may adjust the hops a bit to get closer to 70 IBU as the citra...

    Flameout to Fermerter

I do not use ground water for chilling. Where I brew now we do not have running water so I have to use a salt brine tank for chilling. I have 20 gallons of brine at 17F. Here are my numbers from the last brew, which was the first time using the brine setup. 1750, being 550 PM. Here are the...

    Flameout to Fermerter

I have been all grain brewing quite a while and have been focused upon the techniques of the mash and boil for quite some time obviously. It occurred to me during the last brew that I have not put much focus on learning what is best and what others do flameout to fermenter. Thus I pose the...

    Building a Kegerator Part 3

In part 2 I had just finished the install of the faucets and roughing in the liquid lines. Here we continue, but first i finished up the gas system in the beer area adding the four gas fittings. I cut the tubing to a length were I can work on a keg on the floor with ease but do not have a mess...

    Building a Kegerator Part 2

Part one of building my Kegerator is posted here. Where we left off I had just completed the CO2 system and roughed it into the fridge. Next I started on the liquid side of the system. The first decisions that have to be made are faucet location and spacing. I did some research on...

    Building a Kegerator Part 1

I recently moved and had to get rid of my old Kegerator, the wife said it was not worth shipping costs, and it did have a bit of rust here and there. Faced with not having a Kegerator the search was on for a new solution. Here are the steps I went through building my new on with a refrigerator...

Canadian and Toronto Members look here

Got My Crankandstein (w00t!)...Any way to tell if stainless or regular steel?

Another pretty easy way to tell would be to check the hardness of the rollers. You would need to get to the ends. But if you take a sharp pointed pick and push it into aluminum it will be much softer than SS. I think if you tried a ice pick on SS and Aluminum then hit your rollers you could...
