American Wheat Ale over 5.5 ABV

I've got a friend who puts a few boxes of nerds in the boil to pump up the volume. Apparently it doesn't contribute any strong flavors but kicks up the ABV to imperial levels :)

    Beersmith

Nope, looks like somehow it ignores non-grain grains :) Little learning curve here, but a great app...

    Beersmith

I want to add Candi syrup, but in Beersmith, it's listed under grains. I get that it's fermentable, but won't this alter the water volumes adding it to the grain?

Spigot Installation on Bayou Classic 8 gal pot

This thread is as life saver. Those instructions that came with really suck.

Cuvee De Trolls clone recipe question

Hey @Calder , thanks for the reply. I'm going to do BIAB. I bought @wilserbrewer bag system that should arrive tomorrow or Friday. I am debating on whether or not to sparge. Part of me thinks I'll get more out of it, and the other part says I won't gain much and my volumes will be off. I'm...

Ok. I guess I don't know where to get all the grain info, but I'll look it up. Thanks!

    Beersmith

Right, but for some reason it isn't showing american pilsner (or Munich UK when I search for Munich)

    Beersmith

So, I downloaded the trial and I'm playing around with it. I'm attempting to enter the recipe I'll be brewing this weekend, but for some reason it doesn't have the Pilsner (US) nor the Munich (UK) grain available to add. I'm sure I'm just looking in the wrong spot, but hoping someone can help...

Partial or full boil for Caribou slobber

I bought the Kindle version of the 4th edition for $9 on Amazon. It's a great read...

    Boil Water Quantity

I think the less you have to top off, the better. Everything I've read is that full volume boils are better than partials. If you got the room and the BTUs, full volume it all the way!

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Yeah, I'll give it a whirl. Lots of beers on my list!

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

I can actually distinguish between the smell and the flavor. As long as it doesn't have the bitter aftertaste I'm good. I've actually had some beers that had a high hop Aroma but will not happy or bitter at all. And that was kind of a cool experience.

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Can someone describe the flavor of this? I am interested in a beer that's approachable to most people and not bitter. I don't like bitter beers. Thanks!

    Wilserbrewer and Brew Bag comparison

Just preferred the grand slam tonight. Everything I've read makes me know I've made the right choice.

Yah. Added a bit more, sweetened it up, stirred it, and kegged it. We shall see!
