    Belgian Candi Sugar d180

Interesting...they use DAP in that recipe vs. an Acid that I'm finding in most recipes. I've made the clear stuff with Cream of Tartar and it worked really well.

    Belgian Candi Sugar d180

Not a bad idea. I don't have the fermenter space right now, but maybe I'll invest so I can run two batches...unfortunately quads take so long to mature, it's a hard test to run :)

    Belgian Candi Sugar d180

I'm prepping to make a Belgian quad (basically it's the Northy 12 from NB) and calls for Belgian Candi syrup d180. I've made clear stuff with really good success, so I'm wondering if d180 is just cooked longer to get a darker color. Is it still done with white sugar, or is it raw cane sugar? Any...

Hallelujah!! The day has finally come, goodbye bottles!

Nah, you'll end up with a cloudy pint or two but it's not too bad. Worth it for commercial clarity!

Congrats! I have kegs, and I think the only thing that I'll bottle from now on are long fermenting belgians.

    Looking for thermometer suggestions

This thing is like 19.5" high. I think I'm gonna have to do what @MattyHBT said and drill a hole in the side. Looks like my next purchase will be a thermowell and some seals ;)

    Looking for thermometer suggestions

Had a 5g pot, bought a 16g pot to upgrade, now I have no constant thermometer to monitor mash temps. What do ya'll recommend for monitoring the internal temp of mash without having to lift the lid and use my thermapen every time?

    Perlick 650ss Bottle Filler

Hey folks, I've seen a few posts and products for perlick bottle/growler fillers. However, they all mention 630 or lower. Has one event been made for the 650ss?

    Beersmith

Right on totally makes sense now I didn't see those fields as editable when I created the recipe and they showed up on my print out so I wondered why a measured field would be included on a recipe print out.

    Beersmith

Interesting, found the "measured" part on the recipe design screen where you can enter stuff: So, looks like it shows measured, not estimated on the print view.

    Beersmith

Can you guys help clear something else up? On the printout from Beersmith, there are the following readings: Est Original Gravity: 1.063 SG Est Final Gravity: 1.008 SG Measured Original Gravity 1.046 SG Measured Final Gravity 1.010 SG Why does it have a "measured gravity" section? What are...
