    unfortunatley i only hit 1.044. i think it was the crush, ive never used this lhbs before and the crush didnt look right. but on a plus side this thing is already bubbling like crazy.

    i just kegged this the other day. i pulled a sample tonight and it doesn't have that fizzy yellow look to it. hopefully the color comes out more when the haze wears off.

    are you sure its hops and not yeast on the bottom? make sure the bottles are good and cold before you try and open them.

    What's with these sparging volumes for Beersmith?

    it factors in the grain absorbtion for the mash. so you may be using close to 8 gallons of water but will ony get 6.5 gallons. just sparge till you get your pre-boil volume.

    when they filter commercial beers they also filter out vitamins that help fight the hangover.
