Dark Mild Mild Mannered Ale (AG) (E) UK/US

Just poured the first pint of this tonight. One week of priming and all is well. Very tasty and easy drinking! Thanks for the recipe, Orfy!

    Mini-keg Q

I kegged my version of Orfy's Mild Mannered Ale in mini-kegs last week and am curious how it's progressing- so I think I need a taste... But, say it's not quite right yet, how well/long would it last before going bad (or, would it go bad?) if I hooked up the tap with a co2 cartridge attached...

    hops at flame out?

I'm gearing up to brew an IPA recipe and my final hop addition is at flame out. I realized this afternoon while I was bored at work that I had never done up a beer that called for a hop addition at that point. What seems like a no brainer is really perplexing to me. So, I add the hops when I...

Dark Mild Mild Mannered Ale (AG) (E) UK/US

Not sure whether I'm bottling or kegging this one yet. It depends on if I the parts for my version of sonvolt's beer engine get here in time. I'd like to put it on CO2 but my fittings are US spec and don't match up with what is used in Japan.

Dark Mild Mild Mannered Ale (AG) (E) UK/US

I'm brewing this as I type, about halfway through the boil, and I gotta say it looks and smells great already. At this point it doesn't mean much but I'm already looking forward to that first pint.

    Fermentation temp Q

I have a stout in it's second week in the primary (I decided to go without the secondary after reading a bunch about the +/- on HBT to see if I find much of a difference) and it has been around 73 degrees since I pitched the yeast. I was planning on kegging it in another two weeks but...

    Caramel apple cider

I've also been following this thread for a while and am curious how the flavor is progressing. I wanted to brew a cider but when I saw this topic it was like a light bulb went off "Caramel? Genius!" I'm thinking about brewing with your recipe and I want to add the lactose at bottling like was...

    Fermentis yeast question

Hm, I guess I jumped the gun. I'm used to a quicker start than that so it had me worried, good to know in the future. Thanks for the link of topics concerning the yeast. I wonder wahy I couldn't find anything when I did my search. Oh well. I really appreciate the help and the posts have...

    Fermentis yeast question

Yes, I pitched both. I pitched the wyeast originally because since i had never used the wyeast activator I didn't realize that I must have gotten a bad pack (or it had "activated" during shipping). After it did nothing, and nothing, and nothing, I decided to pitch the Fermentis. The Fermetis...

    Fermentis yeast question

So I just brewed an Oatmeal Milk Stout and was pretty stoked when I tasted the wort prior to dumping it into the primary. Anyhow, my question is this: I used Wyeast London Ale yeast that came in the Activator pack but I think it went bad before I got it because it didn't swell up all that much...

    Your First Brew

An apa from a kit. Was OK, but truth be told I hated it. Brewed a clone of Sam Smiths Nut Brown after that and was hooked on homebrew from then on.

    Any good beer in Japan?

Don't know if you plan on coming up the Tokyo way, but if you do I'm in Yokosuka which is abut an hour (by train) away. The craft beer scene is pretty solid, and the sake here is great. Wish I would have seen this thread earlier, o well. Anyway, hope you enjoy Japan, it's a great country.

    Fantasy football anyone?

Hello all. I realize you're all annoyed with me, and I fully understand. When i joined the league I didn't expect to have my internet access reduced to the point it was, which left me very little time to do more than check my email. When I had a second I would update my team, but seeing as...

the more research i do the better tokyo looks for beers. supposedly there are some good beer bars, and english speaking beer bars in tokyo...expensive, but itll be nice to get some things you can't get in the states. and yes, it is illegal, but i guess they don't get on you unless you try to...
