I had the same issue the first time using mine. Turns out it was assembled wrong at the factory. There is flow direction arrow engraved on the blowtie. That's the direction gas will escape. As soon as I changed mine it worked like a charm. Sorry for the crappy pictures, the glare wouldn't...
