South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 31!

Would you be interested in a 50lb split if we can get 3 others in on it? Lordura said it would be $25 shipped for 10lbs with a 5-way split. I think the 8lbs was $29 before shipping so that would be the better deal.

    Whirlfloc in wheat beers?

What kind of hops did you use, Hallertauer or something along those lines? I'm a hop head but never would have thought hop flavor would work well in a wheat. I may just have to try it.

    Whirlfloc in wheat beers?

Dry hopped wheat..sounds interesting! How did it turn out? If it was only in the fermentor for a month, I don't think too many proteins should have settled out. I did a raspberry honey wheat that I believe I left in the primary for 3 weeks, and it has a nice haze. Have you tried pouring all but...

    Whirlfloc in wheat beers?

Most of the haze in wheat beers is from protein in suspension. Wheat malt has a higher protein content than many other malts. Did you bottle it from a keg? If so, your proteins probably fell out of suspension & needed to be resuspended prior to bottling. When I bottled a wheat from a keg, I just...

    Whirlfloc in wheat beers?

So do you mean that whirlfloc will also help with yeast flocculation?

South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 31!

Yeah, I meant the 50lbs split, sorry for the confusion! But if nobody wants to split, I'm cool with the 8lbs for myself.

1x BD-PALE Anyone interested in splitting some wheat? And PBW?

    Whirlfloc in wheat beers?

Hey guys, I have come across more than 1 wheat beer recipe that has called for a Whirlfloc tablet. Proteins in suspension are desirable in wheat beers, so what is the purpose of using a Whirlfloc in them?

Clone Beer Dog Fish Head - Midas Touch

Northern Brewer said 46oz..pretty sure it meant 46 fluid oz. I checked & I only used 1/2 teaspoon of saffron. A little bit goes a long way. I used mine in the boil & I definitely noticed a color contribution. However, I either read in the article posted in this thread from a Dogfish Head brewer...

Clone Beer Dog Fish Head - Midas Touch

The volume of Alexander's is 46oz. As far as the saffron goes, I'm pretty sure I used a 1/2 teaspoon. I'd have to check my brew notes to be certain. I wouldn't recommend going by weight as your food scale isn't accurate enough for accurately weighing mg's.
