    Did I ruin my bucket?

I covered the pail while I was working on the braid, but the grain was only in the bucket 3 minutes tops... not sure if this matters. I did finish brewing, although it pretty much immediately stuck again. I decided I milled my grain too fine, and that was the culprit of the sticking. I just...

    Did I ruin my bucket?

I had a stuck mash the other day. Really stuck. So I unfortunately came to the conclusion I had to dump the grain and water out so that I could clean out my braid. The only thing I had that would hold the whole mess was one of my ale pail fermenters. I wasn't even thinking about all the critters...

One for the Homebrew Mythbusters: Re-Cooling?

There is also talk of those notably skunky beer brewers intentionally skunking them for the American consumer. And I am sure there is much more hops in Heinie, Stella, Becks, etc. than in the usual bmc fare that we are talking about. Edit - Not to mention, what I noticed had nothing to do with...

One for the Homebrew Mythbusters: Re-Cooling?

Not sure it is that easy. People constantly in other threads scoff about the lack of hops in am light lager. It is not like leaving a double-dryhopped ipa in the sun. Maybe it is the fact it is pasteurized and already exposed to one serious heat/cool cycle that makes it more susceptible... Just...

One for the Homebrew Mythbusters: Re-Cooling?

Not sure what I have noticed in my real life (non interweb factxors infused) needs to be called "idiocies". It is just what I have noticed.

If you are into history, check out the Ear Inn and McSorley's. The two oldest in the city. The Ear usually has a few tasty brews on tap, and the closet of a kitchen turns out some great food. McSorley's has already been covered here. It is authentic. This is a pic from 1942. It looks...

One for the Homebrew Mythbusters: Re-Cooling?

I have never tried with homebrew, but I have noticed that BMC type beer does taste worse after the cold-warm-cold cycle. I have no science, just what i have noticed after parties, etc. :drunk:

    Irene damage to your HOPS?

My cones were decimated. I just picked maybe 1/10th of what was on the bines pre-storm. Definitely no home grown IPA this year. :(

Budweiser changes the color of its can....

One thing that I wonder about, is that about the same time that Miller started doing the pull-tabs for the troops, Bud changed from a standard pull tab to one that is red with a crown on it. Why? {speculate Bud hates the troops... and go}:ban:

Homebrewing in NJ ILLEGAL w/o permit!!!

I wonder if we could do a mid-jersey group buy? I am in north plainfield. The $20 or so in gas and tolls to the other group buys kinda kills the good deal for me. Also, having a new store open up around here would be awesome. If they are good, I bet there will be a lot of business. There...
