    Help, 5lb CO2 only lasts about 2 – 3 kegs

I was charging a keg last weekend and sprayed down w/Star-San. No leaks. Bout 5 min later noticed some micro-bubbles coming from the release valve. Took off the lid, rinsed and replaced the lid... no more leak. Took a while to notice the bubbles.

I should add, I was thinking of adding a heavier hop, such as Columbus. How about an infusion of something?

    Too Dry IPA

Been brewing for a couple of years and I've ,ade some good ones. To improve my brew I made a couple of fermentation chambers with temp controllers and I think that is where my problem lies. I made a few simple IPA's with late hop additions and put them in the cooler. After a week, they read out...

    Frustration...Santitation?

Controlling fermentation temps was the single biggest advance in the quality of my homebrew. It lost that "homebrew" taste and began tasting like good beer. I could then concentrate on other smaller processes to hone the flavors I really want. Pat

    Issues with a monster mill

If its like my mill, there is only one drive roller and that roller depends on grain being caught between it and the freewheeling roller to complete the crushing action. It only takes one grain to engage the non driven roller. Occasionally no grains are in that position. I have found that...

    Beer without hops?

Just got back from Portland. At "Hair of the Dog" brewery they had a wonderful beer made from squash and pilsner malt. No hops. I'm a hop guy but really enjoyed this fine drink. Very fresh and crisp. Call and explain your plight and they might crack loose with the recipe. Worth a try. Pat

    Fermentation Chamber, best route

BTW where, in your fermenting chamber, did you install the ceramic heater? I'm using a pad, now, but want to switch out for a ceramic heater. Have no idea where to install.

    Pipe smoking, a lost art.

Smoking a pipe is like getting a part time job! Ha! I collected many Caminettos and Ascortis before the prices skyrocketed. Fill them with Bayou Night from Cornel & Diehl. Great smoke, not for the beginner, though. Love cigars also, but any fool can smoke a cigar... it takes a little talent to...
