Autumn Seasonal Beer Samhain Pumpkin Ale

Brewed this about 1 week ago using S-05. How long does the primary usually take? (smells great!) Another Question on the Torrified Wheat. Mine came uncrushed & crushing was not an option from morebeer. I tried crushing w/ a rolling pin & got nowhere. Finally i hit it w/ a food processor for a...

    Opinion on this Hefe recipe:

Can't wait. Tick...tock....tick....tock.... The Pilsner malt to replace the 2-row? I thought 2- row & wheat were pretty much staples of a hefe? Just need more wheat malt.

    Opinion on this Hefe recipe:

I'm pressed for time & just got a shipping delay from Morebeer. So, i decided to go ahead with what i have on hand. The grain bill is all i really have on hand for the style, I've been wanting to get rid of this rock candy forever & figure a little corn sugar to boost the alc % to respectable...

Can i add bitttering hops after the boil?

I totally screwed up, again! I used 1 oz of 6 year old hallertaur hops to my hefeweizen instead of the fresh ones. Can i add bittering hops to the fermenter or keg? I was thinking of boiling some hops in a qt of plain water the adding that to the fermenter or keg. Any suggestions? Of course...

    Any problems with plate chillers??

Thanks, does anyone have any scientific info on using the paint strainer in the boil? I'm a little hesitant. I've heard people say I've used it xx # of times & no problems. That doesn't mean you won't get cancer in 5 years.

I've got some 6 year old Hops

After a little research.....that looks like a pain in the ass! And a 6-9 month wait? I'm a little too impatient for that. Maybe I'll just throw them in a batch as a dry hop & if I get any aroma out of them, it's a bonus. Thanks for the suggestions though.
