Ive done at then end of boil and by adding fresh frozen into primary after krausen had dropped. The latter was way more effective, and will be how I continue to do these additions.
Shameless bump. But for anyone that was interested. The beer turned out nicely. Kinda like a mild apa. An american mild @ 4.1%. Got a gallon mixed with black cherry juice that I havent bottled yet. Heres the one im drinking all night tonight
If doritos are a big deal where you work... Are you the r and d chef for taco bell who maybe is flirting with selling beer? Which would then make this a huge deal!
Ive done this actually. I made it a very light colored ale. Used northern brewer hops. I added the apple butter with 15 min. I made the apple butter so I knew what was in it. It turned out pretty good. But I would rack onto it if I did it.again
I do this. Start of brewday I get my topup water in the freezer. using store bought gallon jugs. Then I have almost frozen slushy water. Chill my wort down in an ice bath then pour into ale pail. Topup with slush which melts quick. Gets my temp down perfect
Buy the cheapest kit. Furnish your own stockpot of at least five gallons. I went all grain this weekend. Only have a 4 gallon pot. If I knew then what I know now
Well bumpng this because I left this beer as it was for the most part. I did rack 3/4 of a gallon onto black cherry juice. I had made some black cherry cider and had alot of juice left and figured why not. The rest is bottled, just waiting to condition
I had mad an all columbus pale bittered to 40ibus earlier this year, dumped 4 lbs of cherries in there. That was real nice. But for citra cascade I am thinking more the orange zest or dry hop route
