    Its definitely going to be a biab. I would like to get it a little more on the red side color wise. A small mixture of crystal and munich but like you said mostly for color purposes. Im a rye beer fanatic so this one made perfect sense to me.

    So I am about a week into fermentation on my hefe. I am going to brew a roggenbier next to reuse the yeast cake. I have seen recipes with just pilsener malt and rye. But ive also seen some with munich malt, even crystal malt or splitting the rye in half with wheat. What do any of you guys prefer...

    Getting into kegging which beer 1st

    Went with the hefe on this one. Just mashed in 50/50 split on wheat and pils. One oz. hallertauer and danstar munich wheat beer yeast. I was talking with my lhbs folks and neither of them had ever even had a roggenbier so thats what is to follow in a couple weeks

    Hey all just bought a kegerator to ease the botling woes Obviously want something ready quick to christen my new toy. I was thinking a bavarian wheat with 3068 followed by a roggenbier for yeast purposes. Anybody have anything special to object with this thought process?

    The beer they make is alwaysgoing to be the beer they make. They have to come up with gimmicks to draw in the consumers. We think its dumb and annoying but for every one of us that hate it, probably ten more think its awesome

    Probably a russian imperial stout. Used to be one of my favorite styles. But now I am just into brewing low alcohol content stuff. Gotta watch the calories

    Yeah I wouldnt bitter any more. Youll have a nice citrus hop flavor and aroma with what you already have. Its all cherries I think with your extra. I would save some for another batch

    Apple Butter Beer

    Well, thats my grandmothers secret recipe. I would love to tell you but I just cant. She struggled just giving it to me. I would definitely make your own apple butter. Control your ingredients and you will be just fine.
