Found a good supplier of ball lock corney kegs.

Eh . . . I learned my lesson about cheaping out on supplies and buying substandard stuff the hard way. I'm really skeptical of anyone who undercuts the market by that much. If a large company does it, they can absorb the minimal profit margin, but for a small internet company with probably no...

Refilling CO2 Tanks with Dry Ice?

This needs to be said again and again - these canisters are full of compressed air waiting to escape; in other words, they're BOMBS. No one should be ****ing with these things if they're not licensed to do so, and no one should ever be screwing around with a charged cylinder

    What's your Redneck name?

Bo Pigpusher. I sense a lack of originality

    Newbie question

If you think you know more than the professional brewers that put the recipe together, go ahead; if not, I wouldn't meddle with it

Jalapeno beer recipe for a 2.5 gallon batch

Recipes scale down - to cut a 5 gallon batch into a 2.5 gallon one, jsut use half the ingredients. To turn a 5-gallon batch into a 1 gallon batch, just use 1/5 the ingredients

    Travel Advice

Can't remember the name, but I've heard of some monks in those parts that brew what's billed as the best beer in the world; they only sell it at certain times and they limit buyers to one case each; pickup is limited to the abbey they live at. Might be worth looking up

    7 stitches later...

Y'know . . . blood has a lot of protein in it, maybe you add it to the beer and the yeast does some interesting stuff - fun experiment, eh?

    Long-term aging questions

Eh, a lighter-bodied cigar like Ashton VSG's will lose a lot, pretty much all of their flavor profile, and definitely all of their body, over that type of time span. Even a full bodied monster like the Punisher, the most full-bodied cigar available that make even seasoned herfers sick with...

Back at it after a couple of years. Recipe Review

Can't comment on the recipe, but good to know there's a fellow cigar/pipe lover on here. Love me a Man O War or a little Frog Morton while I'm brewing :D

    Condensing your beer

On gaming forums, it also refers to "overpowered" - a weapon that's too powerful and gives an unfair advantage

Black gunk on the bottom of a new kettle

It's a megapot, so it's as wide as it is tall; my dishwasher is standard size, and the kettle just barely fits in if I jigger the little dish-holder-finger-things around a bit

When can I crack one open?

Whether knowingly or unknowingly, you make a good case for switching to kegs . . .

Black gunk on the bottom of a new kettle

Bingo, it does indeed have a brushed finish. Much appreciate the advice; I'll definitely go pick up some barkeepers friend (used to use that stuff to brush up pans with stuck-on food; works like magic) On another note, it's good to know its' just machine oil; knowing Chinese standards, I was...

    How did you find us?

I had a ton of questions when I got interested, so I googled everything. 9/10 times, this forum was the top search result, and not only answered my question, but raised new ones with info I hadn't considered before. No other forum even came close So I joined up; seems to be the best...

    Kegging and bottling same batch

If it's only 6 bottles, you may wanna do just what Oblivious Brewer suggested and use sugar drops; get them on any brewing website

Black gunk on the bottom of a new kettle

Like I said before, scrubbing the pot out with Dawn dishsoap and the rough side of a sponge didn't do much - the pot looked clean and shiny , but when wiped with a paper towel while the pot was wet, black gunk appeared on the paper towel. Now for an update: ran the pot through the dishwasher -...

Black gunk on the bottom of a new kettle

Dish soap and the scrubby side of the sponge. I sent the damn thing thru the dishwasher and the bottom is clean but the sides are still showing gunk when I wipe it while wet.
