New way to control Pellet Hop gunk!

Anyone done a 300 vs 400 micron comparison yet?

03 October 2012 Corny keg price comparison-

What's the difference between the class 1, 2, 3, etc?

    Stick on thermometer

The stick ons, aka Fermometers, aren't supposed to be submerged in water; they're water-resistant, not water-proof

03 October 2012 Corny keg price comparison-

Great thread that's much appreciated - definitely something to be prosted. I've been on the fence about a kegerator and 1 or 2 kegs for awhile now, just waiting for the right promotion to buy some new or used

    What's wrong with my palate???

Yup, a week, more or less. It's informally called burn out; it happens when you smoke big cigars, and I'd wager it's the same with beer - your palate just gets overwhelmed with bold flavors and you gotta take a break to let things reset

    Buy or Make

There's also the issue of single tap vs dual tap and future expandability

    Buy or Make

Free bump - I'm interested in this as well; CL in my area either has few sellers as well, and those that are selling think their 10 yr old junk is worth $150 at least

    Using Caffeine

I just found this funny, effect on a caffeine crazed spider, courtesy of Wikipedia:

    Where to buy?

Online is almost always cheaper, especially if you can find a discount coupon. Northern Brewer and Midwest Supplies are two of the best online stores IMHO Some LHBS are good and cheap; others, like mine, screw you on the price and charge 2-3x for the same items you can find online

    What's wrong with my palate???

Take a week or so off from beer, let your palate recover. Same thing happens when you smoke big flavored/bodied cigars, it overwhelms your palate and it takes a few days to be able to distinguish the finer flavors again

    Using Caffeine

Difference between saying "watch out, use caution" and "OMG - YOU COULD F*CKING POISON YOURSELF IF YOU EAT IT ALL". Scare tactics. Take a chill pill, bang your old lady, and relax. No one's talking about dumping a whole pack of caffeine powder into a cup; like I've said three times...

    Using Caffeine

There's a difference between discussing something and using overboard scare tactics. You can discuss drinking alcohol responsibly without scaring someone with the story about some idiot frat boy who drank himself and had his stomach pumped, and you don't need to overhype things to get your...

    Using Caffeine

Caffeine in it's purest form is actually a white powder, not liquid; and it's perfectly safe if you watch the measurements, which is something I've said at least twice already: Reading comprehension. It works. Ever been to college? Jello shots are the least of anyone's worries. Now...

    Using Caffeine

Yeah, so dangerous to add caffeine to a drink; no one's ever done that before  - Coffee - Put Dunkin Donuts on the hazmat list - All tea - All Iced teas - Red Bull - Monster - Rockster - Amp - Burn - Kabballah - Stoked - Beaver Buzz - Pitbull - Launch It's only dangerous if you...

    Using Caffeine

Should be interesting to try; caffeine is added to tons of products, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, I can't imagine it'd be too bad if you measured the amounts out to match a cup of coffee or a cup of green tea (actually more caffeine than coffee), both of which have less caffeine than a red bull...

Why do all new kegs have unremoveable poppets?

Every site - they carry the exact same keg, it seems (at least the pictures are all the same) - and they all have non-removeable poppets. Maybe someone smarter than me can answer this, but HOW IN THE HELL can you justify selling a product at up to 4 four times the price of a normal used corny...

    Zero carb beer?

A beer that goes with anything . . . . riiiiight. Sounds like a marketing gimmick beer to me; like porcupine said, they probably just played with the serving size to get to 0 carbs

    Hobby or Job?

Just a fun hobby, along with my hobby of pipes/pipe tobacco, cigars, wet shaving and cars; I've got a profession and a job, brewing is just a fun thing to do You aren't going to beat the big online sites on price, shipping, or being able to eat the cost of returns. My LHBS stays in business...

    Lead glass

A new plastic food grade bucket is about $15 with a lid, cheaper at a big box store - skip the carboy, avoid the risk of bleeding, and go cheap with a bucket

I may be a loner in this lol But I dont like Hoppy beers

Mmm, I love hoppy beers that are bitter - to me, they're delicious and I can't get enough of them; to each his own.
