    Calling All Metal Fans

This may not be a fav of some in here, but I think it is worth taking a look. They are a band that ranges in age from 18-19 down (yes down) to 12 for the lead singer. The band has also done covers of Ozzy, Dio, Sabbath, Alice Cooper, as well as some 'tamer' stuff like Zeppelin and Janis...

LOL the little 'rockin' dude was keeping perfect time to the drums during the first minute or so. And I agree... Falconer is now on my list of current awesome bands that I hadn't heard of

    First Cold-Crash... Need Input

ok, so, I cold-crashed for about 36-40 hours, and then had to pull it out due to temp issues... brew has been sitting at approx 70 for about 2 days. so I should batch prime using 70 as the temp?

Made a big mistake - will my beer be drinkable?

+1 to beer being 'not lost' for a beer kit...at worst you are looking at a less than perfect taste. Best bet is to go with the kit instructions, since the fermenter is just a tool. My recomendation is to let the beer go, and follow the remaining instructions for brew time etc. Use this batch as...

    First Cold-Crash... Need Input

Batch may end up just under 2.5 gallons... not sure exactly what the trub/yeastcake will account for, but that is a good number Scut_Monkey. Right in the middle if the various projections. 14 days of fermentation at 64-66 Fahrenheit plus about 2 days 'cold-crash' at '35 F', I'll let the batch...

    First Cold-Crash... Need Input

Thanks guys... I guess I'll 'crash' it for a day or two, then pul it out and let it sit for at least a day at room (72'ish) temps? them bottle and age at same for a week-two weeks? oh, FYI, this is a dark amber/black ale hopefully with a bit IPA type hoppiness. We'll se I guess

    First Cold-Crash... Need Input

ok, so I am trying cold, crash on a 2.5 gallon batch, for the first time. I plan to crash for about 1-2 days at 34-36 degrees. Fermentation temp was about 65-67. What do I use for calculating priming sugar addition to bottling bucket? Web-tools show anything from 1.0 to 2.2 ounces of priming...

How many Fermenters do you have.

Catdaddy66, Just in case you were only feeling a 'LITTLE' inadequate... Now ALL of us feel that way, too.

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

I am good with steeping grains. and could, probably, handle partial mash at this point, except for a lack of decent heat source for the larger amounts of water. For now I am stuck using our gas stovetop, until I get some more space to set up something with a larger burner. I doubt I can get more...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Skitter, You got any interesting IPA or regular Pale Ale type extract recipe's sized for the 2-2.5 gallon Mr. Beer fermenter, then? I want to try a couple things out on smaller batches, before I put the time/money into a full 5 gallon recipe in the new carboy setup I got. Figure I should make...

These guys sound really cool to me. Close to the limit of what I care for in vocal style, very gravelly, but at least still understandable. The instrument components are awesome :rockin:

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Yep, I figured to keep hold of them for experimental small batches, or for trying things 2 ways on a given batch (like making a 7 gallon total size batch and doing 5 gallons one way in the main carboy, and 2 gallons hopped a different way, or with different adjuncts etc in the Mr. Beer keg). I...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

I have used a few of their kits over the last 2-3 years, and they were not that bad. After talking to a few people who have been using variations of the kits for many years, the opinions were that they had been getting betterand were much improved from what they used to be, so I imagine that the...
