    Cutting kegs with a torch?

Anyone cut the top out of a keg with a torch. I am making a keggle that will start life for BIAB then move to 10 gal all grain with HLT MLT and kettle So, I want the top as open as possible. I've never cut stainless with a torch. Thanks

    Building my brewery

Thanks Bwn. I've been all over northern and now more beer. I agree I think I will go with a 6 gal fermenter and go from that to the bottling bucket and keep it simple.

    Building my brewery

Ok, so after crawling all over northern brewer I decided on their deluxe brewers kit, and weldless thermometer and spigot for my 20q kettle. I can then add carbouys from there and build a wort chiller myself. Thanks again

    Building my brewery

Ok, so I'm thinking, use a plastic carbouy to ferment. Is it ok to get the one with a spigot to transfer to the bottling bucket? I just like the idea of spigots and a two or three tier system.

    Building my brewery

I posted in equipment but wasn't sure which forum is more correct. As stated earlier I'm a beginner. I got the craft a brew one gallon extract kit. I'm going to modify my crawfish boiler with a weld less spigot and thermometer to move up to 5 gal brews and on to partial mash. Please help...

    Help me build my brewery.

Ok, I have my first batch fermenting with a kit from craft a brew. It went well and I can tell I'm going to love home brewing. Here are my ideas for a home brew kit to continue extract brewing and move up to partial mash. I'm a diy'er so building instead of buying sounds fun and cheaper...

Should I have covered my pot for the 60 min. Boil?

Awesome. Thanks for all the responses guys. Looks like I'm off to a good start. I definitely plan to expand and hopefully get to where I can do my own recipies. Going to use this small batch stuff to get a feel for it then move up slowly.

Should I have covered my pot for the 60 min. Boil?

Got a craft a brew kit and did their hiefewizen set. Did everything exactly to directions. It looks good it just seemed to have reduced a lot during the boil. I added quite a bit of water to get back to a gallon in my carbouy. Should I have covered the pot? Thanks

Hey guys, my awesome wife got me a craft a brew kit for Christmas and I'm hooked! Made my first batch of hiefewizen on Christmas day and it's fermenting now. Already looking to expand after a few more small batches. Looking forward to learning a lot more and making some good brews for me...
